Wet Van Upholstry

Last night my husband got home with the kids while I was at work and they left both sliding doors to our van open. We then had windy rain storm. Any good ideas on how to get this dried up? We have wood floors in our house so I don't have a carpet cleaner to use to suck it up.

What can I do next?

Leave the doors open and let nature dry it out. We have done that several times in our van and it usually gets dry the same day if the sun comes out.

Otherwise find a friend or neighbor that has a shop vac. They are made to suck fluids. The ones at the car wash are not, they can short out and catch on fire if they get wet just like a house vac.

You can rent carpet cleaners from Ace Hardware or A to Z RentAll. Stanley Steamer or a similar place would also do the job too, which may actually be more cost effective. I would definitely use something like that to be sure you get it completely dry to avoid molding under the carpet and in the seats, etc. I might involve the children in the process, too, so maybe something like this doesn't happen again. ;-)Good luck!
