Wedding Anniversary-- Tenth!

My sister and her husband will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary soon. They live back east and I would like to do something special for them. One caveat is that my budget is very tight so I have to get creative. I thought about sending them some special chocolates from some of our local wonderful chocolate sources (they both love chocolate). Is there something else I could add or do to help them celebrate? As someone whose marriage didn't make it to ten years, I want to lend them my greatest support and love for this happy occasion.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My husband and I received these from his boss one year and we loved them! Since then I have sent them to friends and family and they have all loved them too! They have a variety of sizes and prices.
Hope this helps!

That is wonderful that they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. My husband and I are celebrating our 10th this memorial weekend. If they have children, it would be nice to pay for a babysitter for them to go enjoy the day together. If they don't want to leave the children for a few hours then send them the chocolates w/ some wine if they drink wine. It really does not matter what it is that you give them just that you remember is a bigger deal. I sent a food basket to my best friend and her husband at the hotel when they celebrated their 10th and it was just the thought that mattered to them that I remembered and wished them a happy anniversary.

Yay for you for wanting to support your sister. This suggestion is only because I just looked through their catalog. Have you considered sending them some of Liberty Orchards Aplets and Cotlets? They are a candy that is based on Turkish Delight but has expanded over the years to include many different things now. I think the most expensive thing in their catalog is $30. This is some of my favorite candy.

Annie's suggestion is great! My now sister in law did something similar - she snapped photos of people at our wedding and had them write notes in an album. It's a very special gift that I love. Doing it electronically makes covering long distant relatives much easier!

My in-laws love making photo-albumns for people online--I know you can make them pretty cheap at Walgreens.com, anyway, it might be neat to use a bunch of photos, but also get people who are close to them to write little blurbs about how wonderful they are ect. Maybe give everyone a page, have them send you photos (or use photos you have) and include the messages too. I think it would so meaningful to get something like that.

Congrats to them! You could do 10 groups of 10 things to emphasize their 10 years. If you want to do chocolate, do 10 pieces of chocolate. Then maybe 10 pictures of them throughout the years. Or 10 menus from restaurants they have been to. Or 10 memories or comments from family members supporting them. You could come up with 10 of just about anything. If they have a hobby- you could emphasize that. If they take road trips, 10 matchbox cars. Or if they like reading, 10 books (you could get ones from a used book store). Try to be creative and you can go as cheap or as expensive as you are able. Good luck!

My husband and I are going to celebrate our 10th this year too. I would suggest asking if you could pay for a sitter so the parents can go out and spend a night together. Or maybe take a collection for a special dinner for them. We rarely get out just the two of us.I think it is great you are thinking of them. Best of luck to you in your time of transition. I can't imagine that life has been very easy for you lately.
