We Survived the Move So Far!

We flew 2700 miles from Hawai'i, then waited three days in San Diego for our car to be unloaded from the freight ship, then started driving. We drove through California (desert, mostly, and that made me nervous, to be so far from everything). Then we drove through Arizona and stopped at the Grand Canyon. That was amazing. Then we headed up to Durango Colorado, then up to Glenwood Springs and finally to Denver. The drive was about 1500 miles, so wow, what a long journey!

Dd did pretty well, although her toe got infected somewhere along the drive, and she got really really tired several times, meaning that I needed to stop driving and let her lie down and rest, so that added to the trip. She had a couple of medical problems, but quite manageable.

My dh flew from Honolulu and picked up our stuff in storage in Texas and then drove to the Denver apartment. A frantic day of unloading the moving truck, and putting some stuff in a storage unit and some in the apartment followed (thankfully SIL and BIL helped tremendously).

Then dh flew back as he has to fly somewhere else for meetings. SIL has been here faithfully helping unpack.

We are really happy with the apartment (rented it sight unseen, except SIL said it was a nice area and she toured the property). I found the wine glasses so that's important, right? We're making headway towards making the place our own.

So, what did I miss while we were traveling? I am glad to be back! Hope to catch up soon!

And you still have your sense of humor - I'm with you on the wine glasses!

Glad you had some help with all of this - big props to SIL and BIL. I hope your daughter adjusts well and is happy to be near family.

Oh yeah, and I hope spring comes your way. Big change from Hawaii anyway, but a little sn and no snow would help.
