We have 4 siblings and 11 nieces and nephews between my husband and myself. We love to have their pictures every year, but I haven't found a fun and easy way to 1) display them in my home and 2) Inexpensive way to display them. We often get different sizes from year to year. Just thought I would reach out because you all have such creative ideas!

Oooh, I like LeAnne's ribbon idea, super chic. As far as inexpensive frames go, you can go online and find/buy a box with assorted size frames... cheap, but they don't look cheap. Just simple, uniform assorted frames. I LOVE these... my aunt actually buys them for me every year for Christmas :)

i just did a whole bunch in my house. I just went and got some silver frames at walmart and then instead of mounting them with a wall hanger, i tied black ribbon through the wall hanger and then hung them with a decorative hook. they turned our super cute.

I have a wall in my hallway for our special photos. All are in different black frames and black and white photos. You can upload to snapfish or take it to Walgreens to turn photo to b/w . Our old family photos of grandparents, great, great-great look awesome mixed in with the current photos. I also have crosses hanging throughout the photos to bring some design into the mix.

HI,

You have gotten some great ideas and I'd thought I'd share you mine. I have a scrapbook album. I would cut the kids out of the pictures and collage them together on a non acid paper and put it in the album. A lot of pictures, you can do without the background. Or just cut around the main focus. It saves space and it just focuses on the faces. You could do a page for each child or do a page for each year with all the pictures taken from that year. It makes a good coffee table book or you could even display it on the mantle or shelf. It does take a lot of work but it's worth it in the end. The kids and parents love to look through the books. Good luck!

Hmmm perhaps you could make a collage & put it in a frame?

Find a good size frame you like (I know Hobby Lobby almost always has frames 50% off...). Then cut a piece of poster board to the size of the frame. Arrange your pictures in a fun collage on the poster board, and then stick it in the frame! You can always change it out with a new piece of poster board & a new collage. If you just use a little bit of tape rolled on the back of the pictures, you can reuse the pictures too.

Why not choose a wall (in the hallway, kitchen or liviing room) where you want to display them then buy a few different sized nice frames (in the same color) and arrange them however you want. Then as you get new pictures, you can put whatever size you want in that frame...maybe buy a 10x13, 2-8x10, 2-5x7's, etc. so that no matter what size you get, you'll have a frame for it. That way the pictures are constantly being updated?!

Another idea would be to mat them and put them on the fridge (maybe designate one entire side of fridge to only family pictures. They wouldn't be as 'nice' but still there for everyone to see.

A third option is to do the same as the first option but isntead of hanging them, have them on a mantle, shelf, etc.

A fourth option would be to buy a large screen or picture frame that has a bunch of different sized places for pictures and replace them as you get new ones.

I have an old antique window that has a frame and shelf building around it (shelf is below it) . I have a couple of votive candles on the shelf (that are there just for decoration - not to light :) and I put all my pics onto the window itself. I use the double sided tape and tape them to the window panes. I don't have alot of empty wall space to hang pics. I use the smaller pics for this. That's the size I request. Then each time I get a new pic, I just replace it on the window. I also put snapshots of pictures that I like on there.

Lots of times you can go to websites like snapfish.com and you can create your own collage portrait. You can scan and upload all of your pictures and arrange them into a collage in whatever size you choose. It can be really huge, or just 8X10 size. Then, you can just buy a nice frame and hang your collage up on a "family wall".

I would think a great way to do that would be a digital frame. Scan the pictures in and you not only have the current year you can have all the years if you put it on a slideshow, a great way to display all those pictures you just dont have the room for. Good luck!

I would invest in one of the "french message boards" (or make one). They have the criss-crossed ribbon over the fabric board. This way you can easily change them by sliding them out!

My sister used a piece of picture wire with decorative clips and hung family pictures across a window in her kitchen (think laundry line).
