WARRANT For Arrest?

I finally let my attorney handle that one :P

The have access to the database, so I'm a little frustrated with myself for wasting all my time slinking through the public record areas.

On my bill it's a .10 charge (10 minute, the lowest increment available... It took the paralegal a grand total of 3 minutes to type, click, print.)!!!

Looks like your state houses this online by county. I did a google search and was able to come up with this - what county do you need?

ETA bummer - that county's page doesn't list info. This might help - if there's a warrant then there would have been a court record of the warrant being issued. Good luck - I play detective all the time too and get so frustrated with dead ends. You know, you might just be able to call your local police department and ask them. It is public info, and the worst they'll do is tell you no. They're up all night too!

Call the law enforcement agency (i.e. police dpt., sheriff, etc...) where the person resides. They should have a current downloadable list of warrants.

This is public knowledge, so no special paperwork/fees are required.

I know here in VA if you call and give the name - they should be able to tell you if there is a state warrant out on the person.

If you have an address where they might be able to pick the person up? that might help them help you!

Not sure how to find it because at least around here, cops keep that close to the vest. See, if you forget to dot an I when getting a speeding ticket fixed they add a fine and put a warrant out for your arrest. Even my daughter had one because her dad forgot to call our attorney. So they don't really let that information out because I would imagine they don't want to let people know how many warrants are out there for innocent people who just didn't pay enough.

if she has a rap sheet, then she might very well have a warrant out for her arrest, check the paper in their area, which usually includes arrests and warrants

Lawyers do not have access to this info. They may have a 'connection' that could get them this info, but they don't have access.
Just wanted to clear that up.
If this is family member you are looking for or trying to help, contacting law enforcement would be my next step. Like Cheryl said, help them help you.

Ask the police. If you have a friend (or a friend of a friend) who is an officer, they can look into it for you.

We had our friend (NYPD Detective) run a background check on our housekeeper (with her written consent). Nothing there, but it was nice to know!

for MO, I use case.net to check current & past court cases. I know this is different from your situation, but it might be a starting point for you.

It's amazing how much you can learn from this website. Most important for me, I learned that my Evil Stepmom filed a lawsuit against my dad.... after his death....for a car accident she'd been in with him. She was the passenger, he was the driver. The original case had been settled several years prior to my dad's death....so we were shocked by her greed. It sooo changed our relationship/trust with her. Love those public records!

I vote attorney also. Through public records, your only going to find out what happened after his/her court date, which would clearly mean, they have already been arrested or turned themselves in, and went to court.

Not sure if it will work for a warrant, but try Washington State Patrol. I think it costs something like $10.
