I have been going to Dr Bain at Healthy Kids Pediatrics for 3 years now. They are great in their holistic approach but I have some issues. It's harder then heck to get anyone on the phone. You generally have to leave a message and hope someone calls you back. I have never actually seen Dr. Bain, I always see the nurse. They called in a prescription to the wrong pharmacy. They give you a list of "alternative" medications to use, which I like, but then I run all over town trying to find them.
I would like an office that will provide enough staff to answer the phone during peak hours such as when they first open. An office that doesn't act like your the idiot and it's an inconvenience to talk to you on the phone. And of course a good and caring pediatrician.
My youngest is 7 years old. Should I just convert to our family doctor instead?
Connie McDonald in Denton, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, is holistic and takes tons of time to talk with you. They have a consulting physician but we've never needed him so far; I believe he shares Connie's philosophies. They are even in the office for half a day on Saturday. Here's the website:

We LOVE Dr. Stacy Terry at Best Nest Pediatrics. She is kind, thorough and I know that she is trying to really take care of the problem instead of just giving me antibiotics. She's at Lebanon and Legacy. They are great about getting us in and when I've just had things I wanted to talk through, she's actually called me back instead of the nurse.
We go to Piga Primary Care on Warren Parkway.
We started out with Mom Dr. Piga in Plano and LOVE her. However, her daughter is a pedi, daughter in law is a pedi, and son is a Dr. They all 3 work together.

Fortunately I do not have to call in much but when I have, I've always seen the Dr. and on the same day. They take their time with you as well.
I can't sing enough praises for the entore Piga family. They recall things about my daughter and really have a connection to patients.
WOW, we have been with Dr. Bain for three years and have nothing but praises for her and her staff. Dr. Bain has personally called me even as soon as a week ago to clarify one of the alternative treatment plans. I hate you have had a different experience, but in my honest opinion I would not go anywhere else. I always go to Family Health Market off Preston and Lebanon, they even give a nice discount for Dr. Bain patients since that is where we get most of the items she recommends. If they don't have what I need they order it for me. I have had an issue in the recent months leaving a message and not getting a call back but I spoke to Lisa and she made sure the message was given to the right person. They are a busy group, but they offer a level of care that is not easy to find. I hope you find a doctor to suit your needs; I just had to respond---I was shocked to see your post.
