Anyone have a vitamix? Thinking of buying one to make baby food and that way I can use it for cooking and juicing.
Does it really work?

What can I do next?

Just purchased one last week after my blender went up in smoke. My mom has had a Vitamix for 10 years and loves it. I wanted one that would liquify everything including kale, spinach, carrots etc. Juicers and other blenders do not even compare to the power of a Vitamix. Its awesome! I use it several times a day. In the morning I make an oatmeal protein shake for myself (and the kids love it too) but it turns dry oatmeal into powder. In the afternoon I make carrot/apple juice and my kids must think its kool-aid because they always ask for more. My kids are 1 and 4 so I haven't tried baby food but I'm sure it would do exactly what you need. I read a bunch of reviews on amazon and came to the conclusion I didn't need a multi-speed option so I went with the one that cost about $380 BUT I purchased mine at the BedBathandBeyond on Butterfield (the one in Naperville doesn't carry them in store) and then used my 20% coupon so it brought it down to around $300. It comes with a recipe book which is great too.

Hope that helps.

Yes. It was awsome for making baby food. Its really far supirior to a blender. Mine has paid for itself making baby food for two kids. I will never be without one.

I have a Vitamix and use it every day at least once. I love it! We make smoothies, I grind almonds to make almond flour, we make frapps, soup, ice cream, etc. It is awesome! I highly, highly recommend them. We even take them with us when we go on vacation. You can put all sorts of vegies in the smoothies, and nobody has to know. Of course, it takes a few attempts to get the ratios right (for me anyway). These are the same machines they use in Starbucks and most other smoothie/ice cream shops. You'll love it!

It was one of the best purchases I ever made. They are expensive, but you get so much use out of them and they last forever! My kids prefer the "fruit ice cream" I make in there to the kind you buy in the store. You can make soups, sauces, smoothies, grind grains, etc. Highly recommend.
