Hey everyone: I proposed an alternative vaccination schedule to my ped. and he was less than thrilled and a bit condesending. Does anyone have or know a ped. that would be open to an alternative view on vaccinations.

J.,
I think it's great that 1) you still want to vaccinate your child, and 2) that you're invested in their health enough to do the research and propose what you believe to be best.
If your Dr. isn't willing to work with you, I'd say find another Dr. Most conventional Dr.'s will work with you - call around and ask their nurses what the Dr.'s stance is. You'll find one willing to work with you.
Good luck!

Our family Doc is open minded about vaccines.
His name is Dr. Dobratz with College Park Family Care Center. Their number is ###-###-####.
You can tell him that B. gave you his number and he will know who I am.

I have encountered the same issue. We chose to delay all vaccines, and may not give them at all. Now that my son is coming up on age 3, the ped seems to be accepting it better. Maybe your ped will eventually be the same way. I have friends that have actually been told if they didn't vaccinate they wouldn't be able to continue seeing their ped, so I feel somewhat lucky. I have searched every listing and database I know of, and have come up empty-handed. Stick to your instinct though. Don't let them pressure you into it.

This is the doc that I send my patients to. I've only heard great things, and he is open to working with alternative/no vax.
Yours in health-

Guess I am one of the lucky ones too...I have a excellant family Dr. that has always understood and excepted my choices. I have chose to only get 2 vaccines at a time with my children (almost4 and 10yrs). It started when my now 10yro was only 6 months. She of course would cry, but with the 3rd shot she would cry excessively. I was put down by a nurse for "making an extra trip" for the 3rd shot. I was also put down for wanting to hold my children while they got their shots! These experiences happened at another office, not current dr. I wasnt sure that I wanted the pnuemacaccol (sp?) vaccine for my child. After talking to my Dr. he agreed that it was too new on the market and needed more "real" time. So we never got it. Same with the HPV vaccine for my 10yr. (sorry if people dont agree with me~ MY opinion) My dr. has 2 teenage daughters prime for that shot and he says he wont do it just yet.
Stand your ground, It is YOUR child!!!! Best of luck.
Just wanted to let you know you arent alone on this!
I go to Cockrell McIntosh in Independence on Winner Rd. They gave us the choice of doing the vaccines and understood our concerns. They weren't pushy at all. We see Shannon there and she's great. When our daughter turned 1 they asked if we had switched to whole milk. I expected a reaction when I told them that we give her raw almond milk but she was very supportive and said that one of her friends did the same thing. We were pretty impressed.
I highly recommend Dr. Yanette at Raintree Pediatrics. I know he used to be somewhere in OP and he moved out here a little over a year ago right before my daughter was born and many of his clients have followed him. He has a child with autism and has done a lot of research on vaccines on his own. He's very open to working with alternative vac schedules, no vaccines, etc.
And I second the recommendation of The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears. It hands down gives the most logical and honest approach to vaccines. It's neither pro or anti, just information every parent should have before their child is ever born.
I would try a naturpathic doctor, and also check out the book on vaccinations by Dr. WIlliam Sears.
