This year we are planning to spend a week in the Lake Champlain area. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to visit?
Shelburne farm/museum, Teddy bear factory, magic hat brewery, to name a few. Downtown Burlington is fun to walk around. You'll see neat things just while you're driving around, like vineyards, farmers markets, antique stores. The champlain/burlington area is one of my favorite places on earth! Have fun!
Not sure if you mean the NY side or the Vermont side. If it's New York, I have no suggestions. If you're anywhere near Burlington VT there are a TON of things to do and see! My daughter and I were just there in May, looking at colleges (St. Mike's and UVM) and loved the entire area. The waterfront is beautiful.
Just south of Burlington (Route 7, maybe?) you'll find the Shelburne Museum which offers a very eclectic outdoor assortment of stuff: a covered bridge, a steamboat -- all kinds of stuff. COntinue south a few miles and you'll come to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.

My friend did this with her son, about 10 years ago, and she said it was an amazing time. Sorry, I don't have any direct info for you, but, one of the things I remember they did was a train ride, which I thought was so cool! Kids love trains, and adults love the scenery and Lake Champlain's history. I just found this; check it out:
