and I live on the Gulf. Just ugh. Even though it looks like just rain, flash flood warnings and all through the weekend, I am a little freaking out. Like do I dig out the boards to cover the windows just in case; do I stock up on stuff; or do I just chill, and watch the weather before I go into panic mode.

Damn, its just a tropical storm - we have summer showers worse than this thing. I hate it when they name the storms, makes them seem so much worse.

Okay, sorry, had to share my freak out moment.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I see that florida is getting drenched. We are under coastal flood warnings and beach warnings already.
I have all the supplies - flashlights, gas, etc. And I know it is going to be just windy and rainy for a few days.
I just have a twitchy feeling about this hurricane season - visions of Katrina I suppose.
Oh, well - I am just a little nutty this weekend. LOL

I suggest you are always prepeared during the "season." We have bags in our bathrooms with the basics and needs for tornado (rare here but jic) and blizzard prep etc. You have a responsibility to yourself to be prepared so you do not panic like this.

The reports are varied right now, but it's almost a done deal that some areas are going to have flooding & lose electrcity. Turn on the Weather Channel & keep it on until they figure out which way, 'Debby' is actually going to go. As far as the boarding up of windows & sandbags at the door that is something to do when you KNOW she is heading your way & is a, hurricane. Your local radio/TV stations will let you know when that happens.

We ALWAYZ have candles, batteries, canned food, ice chests, water & a weather radio at the ready cuz' you never really know. JUST a tropical storm means many things including wind damage & tornados. Don't fret just now but be cautious...keep that weather station tuned!

Best!
