I had two children. I'm a bit over 5'3". I was a perfect weight. I gained 50 lbs with my first. 15 lbs of it were gone when my water broke. :-) Second child was smaller and I gained about 35-40? Still had an hour glass figure and skin was rather tight. Then boom, at about 45, the skin just sagged there. At 59 I got a tummy tuck. Wish I could have afforded it when it appeared. (You don't want to do this until you're through having children.)
They have limits on the number of pounds they can take off you at one time. You DO need help at home. Like a C section, it takes time to not feel the pain when you sit up, etc. I thankfully had an adjustable bed. Best investment ever.
I asked about my arms since age and gravity and a weight gain made them loose. They didn't think that lipo would help at my age because well the skin just doesn't shrink back up. They woud have had to do a long cut and sew job with scars. No thank you. Muscle toning helped arms but only to a point. Lipo helped hips, thighs, and love handles. Love handle lipo aches in recovery. Ooooh.
I lost 20 lbs recently, partly from a hospitalization where I was practically on an ice chip diet for days. Now I have more lose skin below the waist but not bad. The muscle tightening underneath helps me stay hour glassy -- until I sit down. Good enough for me at this age.
