Does anyone have any ideas or know of anything I can do to get pregnant. I had no trouble the first time around and now my husband and I have tried for 1 year and have had no success. We have tried everything natural in the books and no success. I hate the idea of having to try fertiliy drugs but that may be the only option. Any ideas on what has worked for you?
gree wit Stacy, I found out I had PCOS and need to use medications to get pregnant. I would HIGHLY recommend going to Family Beginnings. Dr. James Donohue is wonderful. He is the man who know what I need to use to have a pretty little 2 year old daughter. I can wait to have a brother or sister for her.

Hi
I have had trouble conceiving and finally we were successful after taking clomid. My doctor basically determined I wasn't ovulating and if I was, it wasn't consistant, and clomid basically helps with that. It worked for us and it is not an extreme drug so you will probably not even see any side effects. My husband is military so I know the added stress doesn't help much.
So basically, I lost a few pounds, tried to reduce my stress level and started clomid and I was pregnant very fast. research it a little, it's not as severe as some fertility drugs! Good luck

Try not to get discouraged. I know it can be hard on you when you really try and nothing happens. My mom suggests the best way to have a baby is to lose weight and buy a new car!! But seriously you may want to look into the Creighton Model FertilityCare system. It is actually a natural approach to family planning. My husband and I learn it from classes at church. Natural family planning is recommened by the Catholic church and the courses are offered at the Charlotte Diosese. The courses were not discussing morality and were not preachy so I think any faith person would enjoy them. You could probably find info on the internet too. Look up Creighton and NaPro Technology.
In a nutshell the course teaches you how to take signes from you boby to tell you when you a most fertile. I found it very easy and within a year I was pregnant. You can also use this information later to avoid pregnancy!
Hope this helps!!
Good luck and God Bless.

I was able to get pregnant with my first very easily/almost effortlessly; but with my second struggled for almost 2yrs. I was told that I would have to have a couple of surgeries and then there would be a "possiblity" of getting pregnant. My husband and I were not sure about spending tons of money and only getting a possibility in return so I opted to try one last thing before we tried to adopt....we tried Ovulex (which I ordered 3 bottles and only used about 15days worth) and it worked within the first cycle. We had thought that we had missed my optimal time but continued the pills so that my body would acclamated to the pills, but then found out that I had gotten pregnant. I too had tried everything...I mean everything to get pregnant and this worked for us. There is a 100% money back guarantee if you don't get pregnant.

I read all the wonderful advise others gave you, and there are many good ideas. My recomendation is just relax. As women we tend to get all worked up and mess up what should come naturally. I recomend you consider the worst case senerio, "you may never have another child". Will you be ok with that? I am a firm believer that God has a plan, and He has forced me to recognize that what I want is not always what He wants for me. I would love to have another child, but it doesn't look like that's in His plan. As long as I'm ok with what I have, whether I am blessed with another child or not I will still be blessed. I recomend you relax and pray for what God wants for you, and happiness with whatever it may be. God will probably bless you with what you want, when you rely on Him instead of all the human stuff.
God bless you and your family. I'll pray you are blessed with the child you desire.

Hello there!
I would say not to lose hope yet. It took me a year and a half to get pregnant the second time around and I ended up being pregnant with twin boys! :-) They are now 17 months old. I also have a 4 and a half year old boy.
I do remember reading that taking Zinc, Folic Acid, and Vitamin C help with building a great reproductive system. I started those vitamins after a year of trying and then about 4 months later I was pregnant again. Some reports say that coffee can hinder getting pregnant in some people.
Hope this was helpful.
Prayer works too! :-)

Hi C.!
My husband and I tried for several years to get pregnant with our first baby.
We decided to buy a fertility monitor from Walgreens. It was expensive (I think 200 dollars) plus test sticks (package 50). With the cost, it was well worth it in the end. The monitor is really helpful(more than the 5pack ovulation kits you can buy) because you test every day of the month instead of the days you think you may be ovalating. It is sold behind the counter at the pharmacy.
My family doctor always told us...with a little less stress, a lot of practice and in God's own time..you will get just what you want.
Good Luck!!

Hi Coleen. I know what you're going through. It took my husband and me two years of trying to concieve our first child. We even tried Clomid and other fertility treatments, to much expense but no reward. Finally, we gave up and God just blessed us in His own time. We've now been off birth control but not actively trying for almost as long for our second child. My friend gave me a great book that I just finished reading called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH. She talks about your body's cycle, and how to tell for 100% certain the exact day that you ovulate. If you are charting your temperature, she says this is helpful but won't actually tell you you've ovulated until it's too late to concieve, and why. She talks about other ways to tell sooner, and exactly what different body changes mean in regards to your fertility. So before you try any medical treatments or drugs, I hope you will read this book. Good luck, and God bless you.

My husband and I also were having some problems comceiving our first child. We heard about a fantastic doctor by the name of Dr. Michael Henry that specializes in infertility. When we met with him, he ordered some tests and found out that I wasn't ovulating properly. He told us what our medical options were and made us feel so comfortable. Shockingly, we ended up getting pregnant without the drugs. Dr. Henry still was very active in the first three weeks of the pregnancy to make sure that everything was going okay. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Henry and his staff at Reproductive Care of Indiana, ###-###-####. His main office is in Indy, but he also makes monthly visits to Terre Haute, Bloomington, and Lafayette. I truly think you owe it to yourself to give them a call. Hi! My name is M. T., and I am also ttc. I have an 11 year old daughter, and a 2 1/2 year old son.
I have been trying to conceive since March 2006, and was really disappointed when I didn't see immediate results!
About a month ago I found a website: fertilityfriend.com, which you chart your temps everyday the same time and also it gives you info about other signs to look for before and after ovulation period.
The first month is free, and then you choose 3 different ways to pay for their online service.
I've really found this website with alot of info that helped me not feel that I'm in the dark at what to look for before ovulation & etc.
I hope this helps you and anyone else out there that is ttc.
Good Luck, M.

C. - I understand where you are coming from completely! My husband and I tried for almost 3 years before we were willing to consider infertility treatment (we actually did go that route in the end). But here are a couple of suggestions that I can give you - both of which I believe were integral in my conceiving.
#1 - give up ALL caffeine if you haven't already. That doesn't just mean coffee - most teas (including green tea) are loaded with caffeine. So is most soda - and not just the colas...and unfortuneately so is chocolate....I know this one was tough for me.
#2 - have you tried acupuncture? This was a big surprise to me, but I believe that is what finally gave us our son. I started out with an American trained acupuncturist, but found that it really didn't make any difference. I then switched to a Chinese woman that had been trained in China and moved to the US. She was awesome! I would love to give you her information so that you could go see her, but she is back in Massachusetts. Check around here - I'm sure that you will find someone.
I wish you luck in your wish to become pregnant!

Hi C.! I wouldn't worry too much yet, I've heard of a number of woman who have trouble getting pregnant the second time. For some reason, women who had no problem at all getting pregant the first time, sometimes take longer to get pregnant the second time. My first questions would start with...are your periods regular? Irregular? If your peroids are regular, you can estimate when you are ovulating by dividing your cycle number in half (ex 28 days, would be 14) and then giving it 2-3 days each side of day #14. This would mean trying to conceive somewhere between day 11 to day 17. I'm sure you have probably already been trying this, so my suggestion would be to get one of those over the counter ovulation tests. They are a lot like pregnancy test, but pretty accurate in telling you when you are ovulating. They come with complete instructions on how to best utilize the tests and you can usually pick them up at any drug store (ie. Eckerd, CVS) My cycle was pretty irregular and after trying for a while, I did this with my 2nd. I discovered that I was ovulating much later in my cycle than I thought. Thus, we tried it and were pregnant the next month! Good luck!

My husband and I had to go through IVF but learned a lot about the female body in the process. I know several women that went on the fertility drugs and after 2 years when she finally went off of them they ended up pregnant within 6 months, go figure. I know that tube blockage (which was my problem) can occur for several reasons, if this is the case they can do an HSG (dye test) to check for blockage and from what I understand in a large number of cases women became pregnant after the test since the dye is forced through the tubes and ends up clearing them at the same time. This test was very painful for me and other women I know. Some women I talked to didn't have problems. Suggest to be put in a 15 min. sleep mode just long enough to have this procedure done if possible. They have the drugs to do it since I was under only 15 min. for the transfer of embryos through our IVF procedure. I would most importantly talk to an endocrinologist to start with. Skip your OBGYN if possible. High levels of stress can cause infertility and believe it or not your hormone levels, which most all doctors will not test you for, can also cause problems. I have found out recently that after having my son and having horrible depression (not post partum depression), aches and pains in my joints, severe mood swings, no libido, fatigue, and periods that were very painful, all this from my progesterone levels being very low. I found out this out from a friend that did lots of research and started using bio-identical progesterone cream to help with her symptoms that were somewhat different. I started on the cream 2 months ago and have no more symptoms. Bio-identical just means natural with no added synthetics. I am 36 years old and have a 15 month old. I hope some if not all this info. is helpful. If you have any other questions please let me know. If you find that IVF is the only option for you I know of several clinics that offer 3 to 6 tries for a one set price.

Have you been to the doctor? With our first, I had no reason to believe that I would have any trouble conceiving, I had never had any health problems of any kind. However, I had been on the pill for about 7 years when we started trying to get pregnant. It turns out that taking the pill can mask a problem that may otherwise cause you not to have regular periods. I didn't know that I had any problem because the hormones in the pill cause you to get a period every month regardless. I had cystic ovaries that were not releasing eggs each month. So if I had not gone to the doctor we could have gone on and on trying with no success. With my condition, I was really lucky. I didn't have to take drugs and have procedures done for months and years. I took one or two different drugs for a few days for a couple of months. Nothing major at all, so don't be so quick to say you don't want to start the whole fertility drug thing. You might be surprised how few you have to take and that fertility drugs don't always involve all that we think they imply. We got pregnant with our daughter about 9 months after I first went to the doctor and now we are pregnant with our son who was conceived with no medical help at all. Keep your chin up!

Was pregnant the first time in 3 months (miscarried), pregnant the second time in 1 month (miscarried) and pregnant the third time in 4 months... however we had to use chlomid (fairly small dosage), estrogen and progesterone to conceive. Depending on what fertility drugs you take, some are not all that bad. Fairly costly, but not too bad with insurance.

I was pregnant w/ my first son w/in 3 weeks of trying. My second took 21 months and we did end up having to use fertility methods. I found I was not ovulating at all. Had to take meds to make my body work as it should...then what ended up helping was getting my tubes 'blown', can't remember the medical term, but they cleaned out my tubes and looked for blockage. I was pregnant w/in 2 months of this procedure. I'd recommend getting a blood test done to ensure you're ovulating and go from there.

What worked for me was this. I have a very irregular cycle. I spoke to several drs who said i was not able to conceieve. They were very wrong. After speaking with a girlfriend that lives int eh UK she informed me of checking your vaginal mucous. Very simple. IF you have alot but are mostly wet it is too soon. when it gets slimy clear and stretchy its a perfect time to try to concieve. it will get dry and ball up when you have missed your conception time or are about to start your period (if you get one, if not this happens also even if there is no cycle to follow as in my case as well)
I missed it the first time But when we tried the second time we succeeded and that was after 2 years of trying before this method. Hope it helps

then we had our daughter and another son
I will tell you to ask yourself;are you tired and are you eating well and how content are you? Sometimes if there is no physical ailment then sometimes it's just stress and lack of time. Dumb as it sounds forget about your future baby and concentrate on your husband and it wouldn't hurt for him to see if he's okay too.
