We use Barbie Hull at http://barbiehull.com/ We have gotten some amazing pictures from her. She is awesome with kids. You won't be dissapointed with Barbie.
My daughter turned two in March and I finally got around to taking her for her 2 year pictures. She is pretty shy and basically freaked as soon as we started. The photographer didn't seem to know what to do to help. Can anyone recommend a specific photographer or studio that does a great job with toddlers? I'm in the North Seattle/Shoreline area, so something not too far off would be best.
BTW: We've tried Yuen Luie(sp) and Picture People, neither did a very good job, imo.
Any help would be appreciated!
TIA.

We go to Olin Mills potrait studios. They are located in Kmart. They are very good with calming the kids down and making them smile. :) They use stuffed animals, squeeky toys, make funny faces and noises. Whatever it takes to cause a positive reaction, they'll do it. They also have props and different backgrounds. We take our family/seperate photos there every year. Go to www.olinmills.com to print out the money saving coupons as well.
This lady is the BEST, she has her own little guy so she knows what to do with kids. She will come to you or go on location anywhere you like. Go check out her website. http://urbanutopiaphotography.com/ also her Blog

Yes!! I put their info below, but these ladies are awesome! They don't do studio pictures so there's no big lights or crinkly backgrounds or weird flooring to make kids nervous. They do an awesome job with their photos and also are stellar at helping put kids at ease. Can't recommend them enough!

And I don't know them other than they did awesome pictures for us last year. I doubt they'd remember me, but please let them know I referred you. No kickback, just good networking.
I love this lady! https://www.facebook.com/simplysonjaphoto
I've known her forever, and know (from personal experience) that she's really great at relating to kids. Check out her site and see if you like her style. *grin*
I would look for a local photographer who will either come to your house (where your daughter is most comfortable) or at a park. Studios can be scary for little ones, an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar person asking them to smile and be happy...this doesn't work for a lot of kids. My daughter just turned 2 and we had a photographer come to her Little Gym class, a place she loves going and she was all smiles. And the prices were better than if we had gone to Sears. Good luck!
