To Whom Do I Address This?

I want to write a thank-you to the hospital who, in my view, saved my child's life while I was still pregnant. I cannot show them enough gratitude for their efforts. (well, besides paying our hefty bill!)

So, when I write this letter of appreciation, who should I address it to? The hospital administrator and ask it be "passed around" or something?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Address the envelope to the chief on the OB floor at the hospital. You could also write a letter of praise to your local newspaper for the editorial section. That way everyone, even those not involved with your care, will hear about the wonderful staff at that hospital. So glad you and your baby are well. :)

I would probably address to the whole OB floor, or NICU, where ever you were, and I would deliver it to them, and bring your baby with you. They would probably love to see how great you and the baby are doing.

I agree with Molly. I would probably write a letter of praise about the OB/NICU and give that one to the administrator and write a separate letter to the workers on the OB/NICU floor. I would make sure no matter what you do that you deliver a copy to the OB floor. Some administrators may not be so vigilant as to make sure your letter makes it to them.
Coming from a healthcare worker, these letters TRULY make my day! Thank you for taking the time to thank those that have made a difference to you and the lives of your family!

I wrote my thank you directly to the doctors and staff and referenced my dates I was in the hospital. Don't forget to write a nice review online.

Perhaps you should address the envelope to the hospital administrator and include a cover letter to said person, explaining the reason for your letter. Then enclose another letter, actually addressed to the wonderful hospital staff who saved your child's life, and ask that THAT letter be passed around, or posted somewhere that the staff can read it... and if you're comfortable doing it, you could include a picture of maybe you and baby...

I think that's what I'd do...
