Irons and me don't mix! Which is why my hubby irons his own work clothes every morning, and is also why I hand over my clothes to him in the event they need ironed! Sorry, I hope re-washing the pants work.
Hi ladies...
Tried to be domestic, and decided to iron my new black pants... well, now there's a print of an iron on them.. right in the front!!! Is there anything I can do?? or is it over?? really nice pants, really upset, hope there's some 'magic' remedy to get rid of this shiny iron stamp:(
Thanks in advance

Iron? What is this iron you speak of? Some sort of appliance made to torture we poor women who have enough to do without adding more work to our day?
Is it a burn? Would dry cleaning help?
If nothing else works - and I'm being serious - put the iron all over the pants and try to make it look like a pattern on the fabric. Instead of plain black pants, you'll have patterned black pants!
It's probably there for good. I always iron my clothes inside out for this very reason.
Need to be tossed. Never iron good clothes right side out!
patch it? :) IF the material is burnt, it's burnt.. you might be able to graft new material on to it.. ok that is a joke as well.. I think the pants are a goner.. unless you make shorts out them... From now on, if you are ironing very delicate fabric, try putting something thin over the top, such as a cheesecloth or something .. this way, you get the heat to iron out the wrinkles, but don't touch the actual fabric..
You reminded me of a story when I was about 8 and wanted to iron. When my mom was gone, I got out the iron and began to iron one of her favorite sweaters... needless to say, I made a perfectly iron shaped design on it.. knowing I messed up, I folded it up and put it in a drawer... a few days later, she went looking for it .. pulls it out of the drawer and low and behold the iron print is dead center on the front of it... I wasn't allowed to iron after that..
I've done that before too...on multiple occasions, unfortunately. There's nothing you can do. Next time, make sure you don't use the steam function.
What I've done is wash them and start all over. I have never had a permanent scorch.
You can probably wash them and it will be gone. Try a lower setting next time.
I don't know how to fix this. However I did something similar - I was being lazy and ironed on a polyester throw rug and the rug melted on the iron and got on my pants.... so from then on I started ironing everything inside out so any marks will be inside. Good luck with fixing your pants.
Oh dear, what is the fabric content? Is is all natural or poly type fibers?
Spray it with white vinegar. If it's just transfer from the surface of the iron and not a burn that sometimes takes it out.
