My niece got a kitchen set and she and my two youngest sons played in the box all afternoon on Christmas day. It was a fort, a slide, a train, an airplane...
How many kids played with the box from the present this year? I have seen a commerical on the TV and have watched my own children when younger love the box the toy came in rather than the toy? You as parents have put so much thought into the gift and wrapping to find your child in love with the box, so how many of yours did this this year? Thanks it just brings back memories for me.

The family got a tent. The big, long box was perfect for my DD to play in and she immediately dropped her toys and climbed inside. We had a good laugh.
We didn't have any boxes this year, but my 6 year old loves to climb in boxes and ride!
My son used to do that when he was small...sooooo cute!
My son likes to be pulled in them but this year he really enjoyed his toys.
Yay! :)
Have you seen the childrens book "It's not a box!" ? It is so precious! It perfectly illustrates how a child will imagine so many different things while we as adults only see a box. Worth finding the book if you have small children.
On another note, we bought a new tv for Christmas and my 17 yr old was dumbstruck that we were allowing the installers to take away the box! Like she would've drug it out to the curb on garbage day :) They never get too old to play with the box!
My sister got my youngest a huge cardboard playhouse that you color. She loves it. I want to play in there!
I still like to play with the great big boxes - stove and refrigerator boxes are the best. But no, my kids are a bit too savvy for that one. They would take one look at it and ask where do the batteries go and does it plug into the computer.
My 3.5 yo loves playing in the boxes that the gifts were mailed in before Christmas. I did much of my shopping online so he was thrilled to see the mailman/UPS/FedEx come with a new box for him to play with. He didn't even care what was inside the new boxes!
