I would try some Hyland's Teething Tablets. You may have to ask for them at the pharmacy. They are homeopathic and dissolve almost instantly.
The past two nights my 2-year-old daughter has woken up crying/screaming almost every hour. She doesn't have a fever and no other symptoms except constant drooling, Is teething the culprit or is she too old for that? Past teething never bothered her this much either.

Hey L.!
It sounds like her two year molars are giving her fits! These are really bothering my two year old as well. Shes not sleeping, drooling again, and constantly has her fingers in her mouth. They can take a while to come through too....we have been doing this for a month and they're still not through. Good luck!
You know how people will say that teething doesn't hurt? When my daughter was just a couple months passed her 6th birthday she started complaining(quite often) that her gums in the back were hurting her, when she ate, when she brushed her teeth, etc. She was due for a dental check up at the time so I took her in and where the pain was at was where her 6 yr. molar was coming in! Not long after that she was complainnig about the other side, sure enough shortly after she had another molar.I bet it is her 2 yr molars coming in. I beleive now(not that I didn't before) that teething really is painful for our children. Try some childrens Motrin before bed. And best of luck!
My son just had one come in he's 2 1/2 and he was drooling and as always when he broke teeth before he has a diaper rash/red butt that is painful for him. I gave him motrin which helped and a cold washcloth to chew on. I thought the teething was over too but guess not!
Goodluck!
They get a second set of molars around 2 years, so if she only has the first set, this is probably the second. Try Ibuprohpin, teething tablets, and Orajel.
Hi L.,
Yes, your child could be teething. She could be getting her
2-year molars. I think there are 20 teeth in the 1st set. Check with your dentist or pediatrician to be sure. So count her teeth. Molars are pretty distinctive looking. My daughter screamed for half hour blocks of time on a daily basis while she was getting these molars. Try a little Tylenol or Ibuprofen before bed and see if this helps. You can also pop Hyland's teething tablets, an effective homeopathic brand, into her mouth if she wakes up. Scary dreams are another possibility. Good luck!
Hello L....Have you ever heard of night terrors?? I have 5 kids, 13yrs.-4mos., and sometimes those start to kick in around 2. Try changing the bed routine...bath, book, soft lighting, soft music. Sometimes that helps!!! If it continues, speek with your Dr. Night terrors can get
really bad really quick!! Good Luck, jess
Does she all ready have her two year molars? If not this could be the problem.
Hi L.! She could definitely be victim of the dreaded 2-year old molars! Give that little pumpkin some Motrin and send her off to sleep tonight. Hopefully, that will help. When they lay down, the pressure on their gums tends to kick in. When she's upright, it's not as bad. Isn't teething horribl?! Maybe even give her a frozen washcloth, frozen fruit, popsicles or a frozen teething ring during the day if she gets cranky. Good luck!
Yes - 2 year molars can be painful. You should be able to look back there and see or feel if there is redness, swelling or even little white bumps where they are coming in. Some Tylenol or Motrin at bedtime may help ease the pain. See if she can point to a place that is hurting her. She may point to her ear or general face area, because she may not be able to identify the origination of the pain, but it all hurts. If not, it would be worth a call to the doctor. Hang in there!
Hi L.,
So sorry to hear about your little one. My son went through a stage when he was drooling like crazy! I had to change his shirts multiple times a day.
After many doctors visits we found out he had horrible allergies. His sinuses were inflamed and he had fluid in his head. I would check as many resources as possible (molars, allergies, etc.) My sons allergies eventually affected his speech as well.
Best wishes,
K.
Maybe its allergies or an earache? Does she talk yet, can she tell you what hurts? Good luck, it's so hard when they're sick!
awwww god bless her....might be the 2 year molars and they are the most painful for little ones.....
