I am considering switching from TXU to Reliant Energy. Has anyone done this? If so are you happy? Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks T.

We switched a while back to reliant and it was a little cheaper, but not much. Then we switched to stream energy. My husbands a rep. with them and that's why we switched. His web page is http://edsmith.igniteinc.biz/index.asp

You can read up on stream there, or you can go to powertochoose.com. It has a lot of helpful info. there.

we switched a couple of years ago and although the service is fine, i can't say it is that much cheaper. we still had a $600 bill one month this summer.

I went to powertochoose.com and ended up choosing Cirro. I really like them. No deposit, easy switch, and while my bill is still higher than I'd like, I noticed a marked improvement over TXU!

most of the time, reliant ends up being more expensive. I chose gexa over a year ago. It was (and I think still is) the cheapest and they give you AA frequent flier miles with every dollar spent! www.gexaenergy.com/

It is really complicated, but ANYTHING is better than TXU! We use Reliant and once we began averaging, it has been just fine. Recently they called with a loyalty bonus and an offer of a long term lock-in-the-low-rate contract, but for now we are sticking to month to month rates as they are expected to go down after the first of the year. After the first three months of next year, nobody knows though. Word of warning: If you average your electricity month to month, if you switch you might have a hefty balance to pay off with TXU. Be careful, tis the season!

We did the same thing and now have Ignite (will say Stream on your bill) its even cheaper ...actually the cheapest on that is well known on the comparsion website. We are still serviced by TXC for an outage and such...we have had it for 2 1/2 yrs and are very happy.
