Ok, I know this is gross. I wanted to ask anyway...
Since I turned 40 a few months ago, I have noticed that I have super sweaty pits. I can actually feel freezing cold, but my pits are still sweaty - blech! Constantly putting antiperspirant on, other than that - everything is the same. Any other newly 40 year old have this wonderful thing going on?

It could be peri-menopause or it could also be hyperhidrosis... I've had it since I was a kid and it's gross. I sweat more than a man and I can just be sitting down. They have a prescription called HyperCare and it's a liquid you put on 1-2 times a week and it stops you from sweating just because, now if you go workout you'll sweat because you need to but as far as just sweating to sweat it cuts it out 100%.. I know how embarrassing this can be, before I got on the meds I would limit my wardrobe to colors that would show sweat less.. it sucked. Def ask a doc about it any drastic change like that normally points to something.

I am 41 and would get a sweaty/clammy feeling from the aluminum deodorants. The more I used the worse it got so I switched to an aluminum free deodorant.

I started using Naturally Fresh deodorant crystals and I don’t feel sweaty anymore unless I am exerting myself or doing things that would make me sweaty. The best part is that when I do sweat I do not have any bad odors. I was using Toms of Maine and still had that sweating feeling with theirs too.

Anti-perspirants made me sweat more! I even went to the doctor and was prescribed an antipersperant that worked for a bit, but then made it worse! I switched to only using a deoderant and sweat less than I ever have.

I love menopause. It makes me hot when everyone else is cold and cold when everyone else is hot and makes me sweat like a linebacker. I HATE IT.

Try an antipersperant that says "sport". I can't even remember the last one I used....but they seem to be stronger.

Sending good thoughts your way.

I'm not 40 yet, i'm 29 and I have that exact same problem! I don't know why either. Try Dove deordarant, it works for me and sometimes I'll use feminine spray too! Lol...My doctor said that it may probably because I drink alot of coffee, 2-3 cups a day, but you also might want to switch off deodarants in between. Good luck!

You can try Sure Dri. It's a stronger antipersperant than what is in normal bottles. You may have to ask the pharmacist for it bc they sometimes keep it behind the counter - no prescription needed though.

I noticed that this started happening to me after my twins were born 4 years ago. My hormones just never went back to what they were before. I'm 36, but it's been going on for a while. I used secret clinical strength and it works pretty well. My hands are usually cold as ice so when I feel it coming on I descreetly put my hands on the skin on my sides (near my pits) and it cools them down enough to stop the sweating. Good luck!

I've had that issue since I was 16. It's horrible! I hate sitting here freezing, wrapped up in a blanket and when I stand up to go to the bathroom or something, BAM! Sweaty pits. It blows!

I haven't found anything that works to stop it. I have found that if I'm going somewhere, and I can't layer, put panty liners on the inside of your shirts. It helps absorb the sweat, and (if you get the scented kind) it keeps the smell down.

Yes, although I'm not newly 40, I'm 48. I've never been a sweaty person, but I've recently developed this issue. I think it's a symptom of peri-menopause.
