Sunscreen - Macomb, IL

My daughter loves to be outside but she doesn't like it when I put sunscreen on her face. She is really good about letting me put it everywhere else, but when I try to put in on her face she runs away from me. I have to hold her in place in order to get lotion on her face.
How can I get her to sit still or some way to make it easier to get lotion on her face?

Thank you so much!!! We got a stick today and so far she likes it. Hopefully she will keep up a good attitude with it :)

Maybe she would be willing to wear it if you call it makeup and you have her put it on herself alongside you. All little girls love playing makeup.

Bull Frog Marathon mist Continuous Spray...Has a watermelon sent. Good in and out of the water. Also if she is playing hard and starts to sweat it protects. She might like the smell and that would help. I would put it on your hand and then wipe it on her face. But the rest of the body no need to rub, just spray and go.

When my kids were really little I used the "stick" that is like a really big lipstick and you rub it on. The advantage is that you are able to keep it out of their eyes because there is more control. One swipe gets it on and it is not runny. If you did the entire body it in it I think it would take forever, but for face it is perfect. I think it is Waterbaby and you can find it at Walgreens, Walmart and I am sure many other places.

We had the same problem! The solution? I bought the sunscreen that comes in a tube, looks like an extra large tube of chapstick. You can find them mixed in with all the other sunscreens.

Then we say "Okay it is time to draw on your face with your crayon". We would take turns, letting our daughters "draw" and then we would take our turn to make sure they got covered completely. We still use the tube today for their faces and ears. Very quick and easy!

Good luck!

tell her you'll just put the sunscreen on her cheeks and chin. Have a hat tied on her and a little pair of sunglasses. Those will protect the rest of her face without getting lotion near her eyes or mouth.

I also love the stick. My 3-yr old likes to put it on herself (of course I go over it again when she's done). We have the Coppertone Waterbabies brand . . . I got it at Target. It came in a pack with the spray lotion, which I also love.

LOL, it doesn't get any easier. My 3 year old still runs away. I try to put it on my thumbs and then use them to smear it on his face while I am holding his head. It works pretty well.

Avon makes a sunscreen that goes on blue and then disappears, my 4 yr old daughter loves to watch in the mirror as and put in on and giggles while it disappears, also another benifet is that it has a bug repellant build right in. Good luck

Maybe try a sun screen stick. You just rub it on and with a squirmy little one, it is less messy and less likely to get into her eyes than lotion is.

Have you tried the sunscreen stick? I find that easier to put on my daughter's faces because it doesn't get in their eyes.

Since my son (21 months) is into naming face parts and such we make it a game. I dot his forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin which he names as I do it and then I say I'm drawing a clown face on him, something I saw my neighbor do with her 4 year old and 2 year old.

Definitely go with the sunscreen stick. Less messy and a lot easier to get on those little faces!

There is sunscreen that comes in a stick for kids. Makes it easy to apply to the face. I think you can buy it at Whole Foods, although I have never bought it myself. My son hates it too. But I tell him that if he doesn't get the sunscreen, he doesn't get to go swimming. That usually does the trick for us. Good luck!
