Stuff to Do with Young Kids in Northern AZ

My husband and I are hoping to take a weekend trip into northern Arizona to escape the Phx heat. We will be traveling with our 2 and 3 yr old boys so I need ideas of things we can do with them to keep them from getting bored and crabby. We're thinking of going to Flagstaff, Sedona, or Prescott. Before kids, my husband and I used to just shop, eat, and enjoy the weather/scenery at those destinations but that's not going to be enough for our sons. Any activity suggestions you have would be really helpful. Also, any hotel recommendations? Thanks in advance! =)

What can I do next?

I took my 18 month old on the West Fork hike, just outside of Sedona. It is a great one for kiddos, lots of neat stuff to see, nothing too dangerous or strenuous.

Have fun!

A favorite stop for us in Flagstaff is Thorpe Park, which is on the road just before you start heading up to Lowell Observatory. (If you're heading west on Route 66, keep going straight instead of curving south along that main drag.) The park has 2 play structures, "firetruck" monkey bars, a herd of bouncy animals, lots of benches, you name it. We're usually there in the late afternoon on our way home from wherever, and sometimes even catch the ice cream truck coming through. Enjoy your cool weekend!

In down town Sedona they have a trolly ride that tells you all the highlights of the development of this city in an hour. It is scenic and fun. Not sure where or cost...it has been a long time, but the info desk for TOURs will surly know.
Reindeer Farm is up there. What a blast that was. It is close to Old America Hotel/resort.
