Strange Warm Feeling?

I keep getting really weird "WARM" feeling in the front of my right leg. The area is approx. 4 inches wide/half of my leg on the front, and from two inches below my knee to my ankle bone. It only happens right there, just on that one leg. It doesn't hurt or feel hot, just out of nowhere I get this sensation. It feels nearly exactly as if I've taken a cup of warm water and poured it on the spot. It happens when I'm standing, laying down or sitting, both with my legs straight out and crisscrossed. It's happened in periods of activity and in times of total rest. It just started about two weeks ago and I'm really curious as to what this could be. I can't think of any reason for it at all.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

What can I do next?

I haven't thought about this for at least a year...but I went thru a period of time where I expereinced the same sensation..it travelled tho...sometimes on my leg, sometimes on my back...viruses and nerves sound like a decent explanation to me...hopefully yours will go away like mine has...

Sounds like you might have irritated a nerve (usually a lubar spinal nerve). Viruses that impact nerves, such as the herpes viruses (Herpes simplex, Herpes Zoster which is shingles, etc.) can also cause symptoms like that before an "outbreak". Talk to your doc as this is not medical advice, but you might want to try an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen if there are no contraindications (ie. pregnancy, stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, clotting disorders, etc.). Take it 3 times a day with food regularly and see if it eases up in a week or so.

I get this same thing every now and then too. Sometimes on my leg and sometimes on my foot. It does not happen very often. I figure it was just a weird nerve thing.

Definitely sounds like nerves doing something. Maybe go see a chiropractor and get an adjustment.

That has happened to me, but it went away on it's own and I haven't thought about again since I read your request. I'm thinking has something to do with nerves. No harm (that I know of) has been done.

Mine was above my knee tho.
