i would call your doctor and see if they can give you something to help you stop lactating. I know they usually don't do that anymore but this is too long after you have stopped BF your twins. good luck!

I breastfed all my kiddos. They were very close in age also. I had milk for a LONG time after the 'final' wean...and the 'feeling' of a 'let down' (no milk) for even longer!

I would say bounce it off your doctor. It never hurts to check!

**I have heard about the cabbage leaves also. I never tried it, but it surely could not hurt!**

They can give you a shot to dry them up. It's not something they like to do routinely anymore but they still have access to that med.

I think you need to see a doctor. You only breastfed for 3 months, and a year and a half later your breast is still very painful?

This doesn't sound typical.

(if you had nursed for a long time, maybe; or if it was just a little bit of milk, maybe; but so much milk it hurts more than a year after such a short time nursing - see a doctor)

You could try putting chilled cabbage leaves in your bra. Not sure how or why, but it helps dry up your supply.

I will add that I STILL lactate a little bit in one breast, and my DD has been weaned for well over two years.

Did you breastfeed? If so, for how long? I still had some milk left a long time after I weaned my kids. I can't remember how long, but it was months and months, not weeks. Not a ton of milk, but there was some there.

I had twins for another family and didn't breastfeed them and everything was dried up in a few weeks.

If you didn't breastfeed at all or weaned a long time ago, you should definitely talk to your doctor. If you recently stopped breastfeeding, some milk hanging around for a while is normal.

If you have not breastfed for a while you need to contact your doctor about this. It could be a sign of something serious or just that you need to adjust something.
Good luck!
