Normal - will never stop... check out the other posts on this issues in Mamapedia
Hi, Moms-
I stopped breastfeeding over a year ago, and yet I still seem to be producing a little milk/colostrum. I even occassionally have the "let down" sensation although nothing actually comes out. Is this normal? If so, when will this stop? It doesn't really bother me. I just think it is strange.

I was 47 when my granddaughter was born, my youngest was 11. I was in the room when my granddaughter was born and about an hour later I had milk. The nurses were amazed. I guess I see a baby born and my body produces milk. It didn't last long but it was still kinda cool.
No, I did not try to breastfeed my granddaughter.
I produced milk till almost 3 years after I stopped nursing. My DR said it's pretty normal nothing to worry about.
It's normal. I stopped nursing my twins in January and was still producing milk when I became pregnant in October. I kept producing milk for a bit, and now it's colostrum.
You might call the doctor if it doesn't stop within the next year just to ask him/her what they think. It might never go away completely or it might just take a bit longer to go away but watch for it getting worse. If it gets worse or becomes annoying I'd call your doctor just to check.
My only son will be 9 this summer and I ocassionally get the "let down" sensation. I guess its normal?? : )
