I have a red dirt devil - it sucks. Actually, it doesn't suck - which is the problem!! hehe
I need a small vacuum for laminate and tile floors. I was thinking about a stick vac because they are lightweight and easy to use. Do you have one that you love, or one you wouldn't recommend?

I love my Electrolux Ergorapido Ultra. I got it from Costco about three years ago. It is cordless with a detachable hand vac. I use it on my laminate floors, but it actually doesn't do too bad on carpet either. Now that it is three years old, it is not as powerful as it used to be. I think the rechargeable battery has lost its juice, even though I always keep it fully charged. Costco sometimes has coupons for it, so you can get it for around $70. I also saw it on sale at Target on Black Friday last year for only $50. I paid about $80 for mine, and I will probably buy replacement one soon. It was definitely worth the money.
I had a Shark cordless stick vac for a couple years, but the battery mysteriously burned out (like a small explosion) one day. I bought another Shark cordless stick vac later, but it lost it battery power very early on, so I returned it. I also had bad luck with the Oreck cordless stick vac. Good luck finding something you like!
We have a Bissel 3-in1 vac that is amazing. We bought it just for the hard woods/tile but it actually works on carpet pretty good. It breaks down and can be used as a hand held as well for the car or stairs. Bought it 3 yrs ago and still works great. It's green in color.
Any of the Shark brand products are great as well.
