Static Cling?

Ok for the past few days I have had what seems to be static cling. I can feel the tingling sensation through my WHOLE body, my hair standing on end etc. Its driving me crazy. Even while I sit here at work I can feel my body just going nuts with "electricity". Ive used almost a whole can of Static Guard and all thats done is make me smell....a temp fix so to speak. But if I go to get in the car etc I dont get shocked.

Wondering if my new bag for work may be causing it? Its one that rolls w/a handle. Or the new pants that I got that are 2% spandex.

I dont know all I want to know is how can I get rid of it and keep it GONE!
Please help!

What can I do next?

I get more static when I wear polyester and less when I wear cotton. I don't do well in polar fleece on a dry/ windy day. It also happens worse when I wear crocs or other shoes made of similar material. My best advice is rubber shoes and cotton clothing.

Run a humidifier in your home.

Until you figure it out what's causing it (probably just the dry air), carry a dryer sheet with you, and run it over whatever is staticy... it smells a whole lot better than static guard!!

Put a piece of foil in the dryer with your clothes. It works like a dryer sheet.

It's because your environment is too dry. My husband uses a little spray bottle of water when our house gets too dry and things get clingy. It does help, and is SO much healthier for you than spraying Static Guard all over. Get a humidifier for your home/ bedroom, and one for work if you need to too. Also, it might help to put a good lotion on your skin every morning after your shower. That has helped me a lot this winter.

Good luck,

Good advice so far.. Maybe consider using conditioner in your hair or a hair balm.. make sure to use lotion all over your body and a dryer sheet can also be used on your clothing and the bag you are carrying and car seats.. Just lightly wipe the fabrics with the dryer sheet.

I have been having the same thing and I am in a wheel chair. It must be the weather along with any nylon that is around us. Remember when we were younger, we would rub a balloon on the carpet and it would stick to the wall.

Cool mist humidifier in the bedroom (not expensive---about $15) and sometimes I take a hug pot of water and boil it for a while on the stove to put moisture in the air. Always check the pot from time to time....make sure you don't boil it dry.

Add more water to the air. Humidifier or even just boil some water for a long time. Humidifier is easier to take to work if its always happening at work.

Put a safety pin on your clothes. I put one on the tags of my shirt and pants and one in my coat. It works everytime and it is an easy fix.

Ha ha ha! Join the Winter Club. This happens to me every winter. I don't know what causes it either, but I know how you feel.
