Stage two are for children 6 months and up, but you should wait until you and your child seem ready to switch. Do not be afraid to ask the peds feeding questions. I waited until 9 months to introduce meat to my son. It can be hard for the little body to process, especially if he is having a time with the veggies. My son still gags sometimes if I give him the stage 3 if it is too chunky and he is almost 11 months. Its alright to be cautious with food. DO not be in a hurry with solids if you or the baby does not seem comfortable, she will not starve to death and will tell you when she is hungry. Trust your instincts.

From what I have read you can feed them stuff like macaroni and cheese and turkey and stuff like that between 7-12 months. I think it would be fine but you may want to check with her doctor first. :)

I gave my daughter stage 2 foods as soon as i saw that she was mashing things up with her gums! That was around 7 months i guess! What i did was baught a couple stage 2 things and Tried them with her to make sure she didnt choke on the bigger chunks! Try that with your daughter and if she doew well then i would suggest giving it to her! Good luck, and like one of the other moms said if you ahve any doubts about giving it to her ask her doc at her next appointment...but she should be old enough to handle that! Take care

First thing you should do is check with your doctor. Then know that she can handle it... my 7 month old has been eating stage 3 foods for a month now and stage 2 foods since about 4 1/2 months. We started with stage 1 at 2 months and it just wasn't enough for him and was to runny. The chunkier foods i've had to intorduce slowly mainly (i believe) because of the texture difference. But that is all following our doctors schedule. I have other friends who's dr.'s don't start them on food unitl 6 or even 9 months.
Hope that helps.

You can try stage 2 once you feel she's doing fine with stage 1. Most of the time, stage 2's are just large quanities. The consistency is not too different. She is probably ready to try the meats (but she may not like them plain - try to mix them with other fruits and veggies that she likes).
Stage 3 foods are usually more chunky than stage 2, so you will want to wait until you see her use her gums to mash foods. Also, wait until she uses her pincer grasp, and try to give her puffs and cheerios.

My daughter is nine months and she's been eating stage 2s since 6 months! (she started stage 1 at four months). The meats, however, she didn't start until 7 months. At eight months I started her on real foods like bananas, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, egg yolks, etc. and she can gum them down now. Fair warning, when she starts feeding herself these little pieces of avacodo, kiwi etc. it's a BIG mess. I now just strip her down to her diaper to eat!!!
