Go to an ENT and get it tested. Don't take no for an answer! My friend died of cancer of the mouth because it was ignored for so long!
Hey guys I have a round spot on my tongue that doesn't hurt and just looks like the fuzziness is gone. I am kinda worried about it because it has been there for about a month... Any suggestions as to what it might be?
Hey guys thanks for great comments and advise. I had went to see a doctor and she told me that it is in fact the geographic tongue. However she did tell me that if it starts to become white or starts to hurt to come back and have it checked out. Thanks again guys!

It could be a couple of different things, including a scar from sipping something too hot to something more serious. My hubby had one of these a few years ago and I finally suggested that he mention it to his dr on his next visit. They did a biopsy (which wasn't a big deal!) and found out it was OK. In other words, it's better to be safe than sorry... mention it to a Dr.
Geez I read the other responses and I guess you should go to the dentist. And I guess I should too. I had that happen when I was pregnant and it went away after I had the baby. Now a spot just reappeared on the side of my tongue-same, doesn't hurt, is just like the fuzziness is gone, kind of glassy. I thought it was probably related to a sugar imbalance or eating too much sugar, which I have been doing again lately. I saw an acupuncturist while I was pregnant and asked him about it because in chinese medicine they always include the state of the tongue in their health evaluations. He said it was nothing to be concerned about, so I wasn't concerned.
If you see a doctor/dentist please let me know what they say.
Thanks to the person who posted about geopgraphic tongue. I've never heard of it, but that looks exactly like what I've experienced.
Sounds like Geographic Tongue. "This is a benign non-painful condition caused by the absence of taste bud papilla. The glassy patches move around the tongue and change shape. The cause of this condition is unknown and treatments are not reliable."

Go to the doctor now. It could be something serious that can eaisly be removed and never thought about again. It could be nothing either way it needs to be looked at. I usually do a image search on what i think it could be...like toung cancer images first stages. or ring worm what ever you think it could be. But the doctor is a must for something that hasnt changed in a month. Good luck. hope its nothing.
Go to the dentist or pcp dr. Asap. Don't want to scare you but when I was at the dentist last the looked at my tounge carefully and when I asked why they said the were looking for a type of cancer. I would have that looked at asap. Also want to make sure nothing in going on under that spot that you can't see. Hope that it is not cancer and you get an answer.
if I were you I would check it out with your dr. It could be cancerous , especially if the spot is white.
