Spin off...have You Encountered "An Entity" or Had an Unexplainable Experience?

I don't know what I really think about ghosts, spirits, etc. I guess I am open to the idea in theory but would freak the heck out if I thought I had a ghost or something in my life. But I do believe that our loved ones who have passed send us signs.

For example, one of my brothers died of a drug overdose in late 2011. We were estranged due to his addiction. Anyway...many months after he died, my oldest son's absentee birth father, who left 14+ years ago when I was pregnant, reached out to me to tell me that he was sorry to have heard about my brother. Since then, he and my son have had some contact via messages and I have begun to receive child support. It's just weird that my deceased brother brought this otherwise unfindable person into my life.

Recently, my nana died, almost 10 years to the day after my grandpa did. He was a mail carrier. My mom left the funeral after the burial because she wasn't feeling well so my sister took her home and while they were there, they heard something chime a couple of times, then chime again. It wasn't a sound any of them recognized. They then figured out it was this old mail truck toy that my dad has had forever. They've never heard it chime before and didn't even know that it did. It was a like my grandparents were sending a little hello to them. Kind of unsettling but very cool.

So how about you?

What can I do next?

My father passed away from a massive heart attack while at the grocery store. That day I was home with my mother and she came to me and told me that she had a feeling that 2 police officers one male and one female were going to knock on the door and tell her that my father died.

About 1/2 hour later that is exactly what happened, one male and one female police officer came to the door and told my mother that my father had colapsed at the grocery store and that they could not save him.

I had a hard time after loosing my father, I grieved for several years until he came to me in a dream - This was the first dream that I had of him since his passing, He was so clear and vivid in the dream. We were in a lighthouse (we spent a lot of time on an island when I was young) in the dream and he put his hand on my hand and told me that it was time to say goodbye. It was so real to this day I can feel his hand on mine. The next day I woke up with a strange sense of peace and although I still miss him, it seemed that my grieving period ended with that dream. He passed in the 90s and to this day, I have not had another vivid dream -of him.

I met a psychic, who I did not arrange a meeting with and who would have no way of knowing anything about me - She did not ask me any questions and I did not volunteer any information to her. She just started talking about my family that had passed - She used full names, she said Leah your grandmother is watching over you, Joseph your father's legs don't hurt anymore (my father had bypass surgery and they took veins from his legs which resulted in alot of pain), she continued to give me 100 % accurate information about my dad and grandmother. She also told me things about my life with such accuracy I had goose bumps - insignificant things and some private things that even my closest friends didn't know about me. It was the strangest experience. This occured about 10 or 15 years ago, as soon as she left I wrote down the things that she said so that I would remember. I still can't believe how accurate she was. I would love to meet her again someday.

When I was in my 20s I worked in a breakfast diner that was in the same building as a gas station in a resort community. One morning I went to work feeling perfectly fine, about an hour into work I started to feel like I was suffercating, dizzy and like I had to get out of the building - I felt panicked and I am not one that has ever had panick attacks. I told the cook that I didn't feel well and I left. About an hour or two later my then fiance came to me and told me that a private 4 seater plane crashed into the restaurant and caused an explosion. Thank goodness it was after the breakfast rush and there were not any customers in the building and the staff got out the back door, One lady was filing her gas tank and she died, all 4 people in the plane died. I don't know what happened, I guess maybe a premoniton got me out of that building before the accident, I never had another feeling like that again.

My mom recently passed. She was on hospice and my sister and I stayed with her from early morning to late at night every day until she passed. My sister pointed out to me a very large bird that kept hanging out by the window and in a tree by the window. The bird was unusually large. Then, exactly one week after my mother passed at the exact same time of day that she passed my sister was driving home from work and she looked up and saw that giant bird in a tree on the side of the road. (This was quite a distance away from where my mom was on hospice care) The thing about this is neither of us has ever seen such a large bird around this area before. My sister has not seen another large bird since the week anniversary of Mom death and neither have I. Isn't that weird?

Our house was built in 1910. Across from the old train station. It is "haunted". Hubby always sees someone walking by out of the corner of his eye. Our daughters also see a "man" walking in our utility room or kitchen. We've smelled a burnt match in the bathroom. But we don't use matches. We've heard the sound of an old flashbulb Camera. Things have mysteriously disappeared or been knocked over. Mostly I think the spirits screw with us. Once hubby took pictures to see if anything would show up. Suddenly the camera started messing up. When we first moved here I was freaked out because I always heard noises, like stomping. But they don't really bother us now, 6 months later. They can be helpful too. Whenever my smoke alarm goes off (WAY too close to the old stove!) It'll suddenly stop before I do anything. They know I can't reach the darn thing. So I jump up and down like a lunatic lol. Guess they figure they'll save me the trouble. :)

I was close with my nana as a child, I spent a lot of time playing at her house. When my parents sold their house, I drove over to the cemetery to visit her and then drove by her old house one last time before heading home. The next day I was sitting at the table eating lunch with my 4 year old son, he said to me, "remember mommy how you used to go to your nana's house and climb the tree in her backyard!." I never told him that story and my Nana always thought that was funny. I just thought it was strange how he would just come out and say that right after I went to see her. He was asleep in the car the whole time and didn't even know we'd went to see her.

I am a psychic/medium. I work with a ghost research organization. I have 3 resident ghosts in my house.

It seems as though most of the places I have ever lived have been haunted. It's not creepy or scary. It's not like the movies or TV they rarely ever actually appear, or move things or throw things ect.

However in the year or two after my brother died, my daughter and I would be up late at night and suddenly smell either popcorn or toast. Both of us were in the same room and no one else was up and when we checked no one was actually making toast or popcorn but we could smell it. I think it was my brother's way of saying I'm here or I'm watching from above.

I have had two outer body experience's in my life.

The first one I was a teenager...about 16/17. I had taken metabolife(while it still had the bad ingred. in it that made people go into cardiac arrest)while I was working one night at the mall. When I got home I laid down on my bed. After about ten minutes of laying down, I remember being able to see myself laying on my bed. I was looking at my face and I remember the look on it. I ended up falling to sleep and wrote it off as just being out of my mind for the moment.

The second experience was alot more real and easier for me to grasp.

I had to have emergency surgery back in 2011. It was life or death for me. I was literally starving to death(and with the extent of my eating disorder me dying was not too far off). I had to have my gallbladder removed before I could even start trying to eat liquids. It was no longer functioning and anything I attempted to eat would make me super super sick.....Even water.

I did not realize where I was and at what point in my surgery when I had the being of my premonition.

I remember very vividly being approached by my dead uncle. I could not make out his face a 100%...he had died about a year before so it made sense in my mind that it was him that came to me. I remember the feeling around me at the time of his visit. The air was damp and humid. We sat on a rock that was in the middle of wherever we were. He sat with me. comforted me. And the most important thing is he told me it was not my time to come home. That I had too much to live for and too much to get done before I do finally go.

When I came to in recovery my mom was there waiting for me. She could see how terrified I was as soon as I woke up. I told her what had taken place and she reassured me that it was a god thing. To take what I saw and to keep that as my proof that no matter what happened during my accident, god loves me and has my back.

It was that premonition that jump started my will to live once again. God knew that all I needed was the right jump start. I had to want it bad enough for myself.

Since that day I have not had any thing I would consider as ghostly. I see those things as God proving to me he is out there. not that proof is what we should be given him to begin with. It helps in proving to other's who have little to no faith, that god does show himself to us on a daily basis. We just have to be watching, waiting and open to interrupting everything, good, bad or indifferent.

I dont believe in ghost ghosts. I believe it is a fun theory and a comforting thought to know that those we love are watching down on us. They have our back as much as my maker does.

Fun question. I go back and reflect on the day of my surgery often. Especially when I need a reminder of why I am still alive and getting the second chance that I truly did not deserve.

I don't know if I really truly in spirits but who knows. I do know that I feel like I can sense when they are around if they really are around. We rented an apartment once and I felt like there was an older man there. I told him to go into the light or whatever that he did not belong there anymore and the feeling went away. When we bought this house I did not feel anything. I've been places and just knew there was something there. I just get this creeped out feeling but I don't see anything. Or if I do see something it's fleeting and out of the corner of my eye. I will tell my husband - there are ghosts here if I sense them. Does not happen to often because I am to busy most of the time to pay attention to it.

So I could be crazy or I could be a ghost whisperer LOL

When I was a child, about 8 years old, I was staying with my very religious, Catholic grandmother. As I was sleeping in bed with her, I awoke in the middle of the night for some reason. Being scared of the dark at that age, I peaked one eye open to look around because something didn't feel "right." Before me was the vision of the Virgin Mary. I closed my eyes very tight and didn't move a muscle, I was so scared. I then felt as if the bed covers were lifted and she got into bed with us. I told my grandmother many years later and being someone who often prayed to Mary, she believed me. That experience has always stuck with me.

About two years ago, we lost my FIL. He was a lovely man and very much a computer aficionado. Always on the computer. We emailed very frequently as we were close and he and my MIL took care of our daughter while my husband and I worked. I rarely deleted his emails because many of them were loving conversations and missives about how much he adored our daughter. About 9 months after he passed away, I opened my Yahoo email account. You know how your new, unopened emails are always at the top? Well, there at the top of my new emails was an email that he had sent me a few years ago. I stared at it for the longest time, dumbfounded. I just knew in my heart that he had reached out to me to say hi. I told my MIL and she immediately contacted their email service provider, thinking that someone had hacked into his old email. They told her that the account had not been touched since his death. About one week later, I opened my email once again and another of his previously-sent emails was at the top of my queue. I got chills. I know he chose me to contact because he knew that I would be the one that would BELIEVE. (In all the years that I have had an email account with yahoo, since the beginning of email, actually, this has never happened. In my heart, I know it was not a glitch)

Those are just a couple of instances; I have others, but those two really stand out to me for special reasons.

I love seeing that so many others have or had "Nana's"! Mine passed away in Oct of 2011...and I still miss her every single day...my papa has been gone for almost 7 yrs. I have never "seen" them, but they do come visit me in my dreams and I ALWAYS wake up knowing it was their way of telling me they were ok, and watching out for us...in my dreams, they are always happy and healthy!

They were both a huge part of my life and helped shape who I am today, so "seeing" them in my dreams means so much to me! :)

My grandma came and said good-bye to me. I was deeply asleep and I woke up and just knew she was gone. I even told my boyfriend (now my husband) that I knew she had come to say good-bye. My mom called a few hours later to tell me she had passed away in her sleep.

When I was an infant my mom said that she would hear me crying and by the time she got upstairs I would have gone back to sleep and every time she walked into the room the rocking chair would be rocking back and forth. Like I had my own guardian angel or ghost.

When my grandfather passed away he told everyone the angels were here to bring him home, that his time on earth was done. He had been out of it for months before he passed away. Didn't recognize any of his children or grandchildren. Kept telling everyone to stay away from him and had alot of paranoia. But on the day that he passed away he was suddenly wide awake, recognized everyone that was in the room and was very clear about the boy and girl angels waiting in the corner of the room. He mentioned passed loved ones that he could feel calling to him. He said good-bye to everyone, closed his eyes and passed on.

I have seen to many things and heard to many other stories to not believe in guardian angels, helpful spirits and yes even unhappy vengeful ones.
