Hello everyone, anyone have some suggestions for reasonably priced cupcakes? I need specialty cupcakes by Sunday the 29thand don't want to pay 2.50 a pop. I have tried Sams and Walmart but they will only make what is in their books.

Thanks so much!

If you want "specialty" you will have to expect to pay $2.00 to $3.00 per cupcake. If you want "economical" then go to Walmart, Sams, or Costco.

It burns my muffins when people come to me (I am a specialty baker) and say they want custom items but yet they expect to pay Walmart prices. If you want CUSTOM you better expect to pay a custom price. Otherwise go to Walmart!

All these cake shows on TV have done a great job showing people what great things can be done with cake and cupcakes. However they neglect to show consumers the COST of those items. It takes time and materials to turn out a beautiful baked item with hand crafted decorations. I use all edible elements on my cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Therefore it takes time and materials to create them. Walmart, Costco, and Sams use plastic pics! I make all my items from scratch. Walmart, Costco, and Sams use pre-measured mixes and pre-made icings and fillings.

Again, you want CUSTOM then pay for it. Otherwise go to the big box store and get what they have to offer.

I apologize for sounding rude, but this is like telling a Mercedes dealer you want to pay the same price for their SUV that your neighbor paid for their FORD Explorer.

I second Stein's - great bakery. However - they do not do character cakes - they don't have the copyrights so if that's what you want it will be a no go.

Check with Christy McAtee ###-###-#### She runs her cake business out of her house so her prices tend to be cheaper since her overhead is low. She has a website I just can't remember it. You can text or call her or even find her on Facebook. Her business name is Brian's Baker.

Check out Irene's Bakery in Lewisville. They'll probably make you a deal for a big order, but I'm sure it'll still probably be over $2 a cupcake. Call Irene at ###-###-####. Their website is bakerylewisville.com. Best wishes and God bless!

You might try calling Stein's Bakery http://www.steinsbakery.net/index.html They are at LBJ & Preston. Their cupcakes are cheap (i think $.50/piece) and yummy but I am not sure if they do specialty orders. You could order Steins cupcakes then design or have some paper cupcake toppers made, lots of great sources on Etsy.com.
