Spanish Speakers! How Would You Translate...

The line is “doctors and parents can decide when medicine is necessary”

It’s translated as “doctors y los padres decidan cuando medicina está necesario”

But I was thinking maybe it needs to be subjunctive: “cuando medicina esté necesario”

What do you think? I guess maybe they are both okay, but it’s the difference between like “when medicine is necessary” like it’s necessary a lot, and “whenever medicine is necessary” like it’s not necessary very often? I’m not a native speaker…obviously! :)

Thank you!!

What can I do next?

Doctores y padres pueden decidir cuando la medicina es neceseria. Native speaker. Not speller! I'm 100% sure this is the correct translation. The other two ways are very "gringo" lol.

I would say esté but I think both sound fine and get the point across.

I'm a native speaker but horrible speller, only went up to 2nd grade in Guatemala.

I am a native speaker and speller, and it would be "Los doctores y los padres pueden decidir cuando una medicina es necesaria." The alternatives you wrote are understandable, but grammatically incorrect :)
