Sore Breasts - Huntington Beach,CA

Good morning all. For about a week or so I have had sore breasts, specifically in the nipple area. I am still breast feeding my 21 month old and he has a lot of teeth. He does not bite me, but I'm just wondering if the teeth could be the culprit. The only other time I've had sore breasts was when pregnant, but I have an IUD. I know those are only 99%, but I guessing that is not the reason. Can anyone think of any other reasons for the breast tenderness. And just to add I wouldn't know if my period was late since I never had one after having my son due to breast feeding and was the IUD was put in I had some light spotting for a week or so then nothing. I've had the IUD for 6 months.

What can I do next?

My nipples get very sore and tender during different points of my cycle. So it could very likely be hormonal fluctuations.
Your body may be adjusting itself.

Hormones could do it. One thing to remember about an IUD is that your hormones still go through their normal cycles, even though you might not ever get a period. So it could be your monthly cycle kicking back in.

It could also be thrush. Have either you or he been on antibiotics lately? If so, I'd definitely assume thrush.

Could be your hormones are revving back up and you'll have a period in a couple of weeks.

Could be a minor yeast infection?

Could be partly due to his teeth coming and and the bacteria in his mouth changing, so it's adversely affecting you.

Keep an eye on it. Wash with only water, and apply a Vit E oil, or olive oil, or some other edible oil.

GL!
