Soap Stains on Laundry?

Hello ladies I have a problem with some of my recently washed laundry. Most of my solid t-shirts looks mottled...not sure if this is the right way to describe them. The have lighter spots or an almost white stains all over them. It's really annoying because in the early morning I don't always see it but when I am teaching under the harsh lights they stick out like a sore thumb. I'm wondering what this is from? I'm assuming laundry soap, but I don't know what I did any different.....we use Tide with Bleach (have been ever since I was in high school). Did I just use too much or what is the deal? Also, is there any way to get rid of these spots? I have re-washed but it's not any better. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I used to have this problem a lot. I found it was worse when I used cold water. I even put the detergent in first (with the water filling) and then added clothes, but it didn't help. It was like the detergent was rinsing out of the clothes or something. I ended up switching from powdered detergent to liquid and I haven't had the problem since.

Did you put the detergent in the dispenser, or did you pour it directly on the clothes?
There are optic whiteners in many detergents that can stain clothes blue or white if they splash right on the fabric.
If that's what it is, they are permanent marks, sorry. In the future, either add the detergent when the water is already in, and/or dilute the detergent before you put it in the dispenser.

I have had this happen too and it is really annoying, especially when I really like a shirt a lot. I was told it had to do with directly pouring the soap on the clothes, so I put it in first, and due to hard water or even cheap dye. When the dye starts to weaken, it lightens. I had a blue shirt get a pinkish color. It doesn't happen often anymore so I am hoping I figured it out.

Do you use a liquid fabric softener? When I use to much softener it tends to leave "stains" on our clothes. I would prespot and rewash. You may need to soak the clothes also. Hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless.

I would call the 800# on the TIDE box and get advice from them. They are the experts.

Most people who sell washing machines will tell you that when you use cold water the laundry detergent doesn't dissolve correctly. They are made to work in warm water. If you adjust the temperature on your water heater or the flow of hot water out of the connectionthen you can adjust the hot to not so hot, I use mine to where the water is a nice feeling but I wouldn't want to shower in it, it would be too cool. Also, if you load your machine too full the clothes can't agitate correctly, they need to move up and down plus around. I havea friend who thinks if there is water on top of the clothes it isn't full enough and her clothes still stink after being washed because there are just too many clothes in the tub. Spray the clothes with a good quality sray and wash type item/cleaner, let them sit a few minutes before adding them into the load. If it doesn't come out then they are most likely "play clothes" now...LOL.

Ok, I have no idea what happened but here are some suggestions.
1) In the future, put the detergent in first, then water, & always use warm or hot water for a few seconds to dissolve the detergent & then change the temp to cold.
2) Soak the stained clothes in Oxyclean overnight & wash in the morning to see if it gets the stains out.
3) If you use a liquid fabric softener, always add water to dilute it so it won't stain clothes.
I hope some of these work!
