Well, how should I phrased this question? First let me just say this, I have a beautiful and intelligent daughter who will be turning 9 yrs old in Sept. she has long beautiful curly hair which everyone admires, she's tall has beautiful dark brown eyes, she was promoted to the third grade with straight A's,which I'm so proud of,I love her so much. But when my little girl was very young she was diagnose with Asthma and now it's seem that she has some what out grown it, she still has her seasonal and pet allergies every now and then, the only thing I give her when her allergies act up is Benadrly, she has been of her meds. for maybe going on three yrs. This is her problem now, my daughter has smelly underarms, bad breath and now recently has stinky feet, she showers everyday, brushes her teeth and wears deo.daily, I also recently bought her a electric shaver because she has often told me she was embarrassed to wear dresses because she was so hairy, I feel so bad for her, I don't want kids to make fun of her , I was reading a request about a mom asking about her child having smelly feet and most of her replies were for her to have her child soak her feet in brewed tea, which I will try for my daughter's smelly feet, also some said that it might be an internal problem. Now I'm wondering is that something my little girl might have or could it be because of her prior medication she was on when she had Asthma, should I take her to a doctor and what do I say to the receptions about why I want the doctor to see my daughter, right now were without Ins. because ours expired but should I be very concerned about my child odor issues or is it just that she's maturing faster then normal. Should I worry?

What can I do next?

Work with a naturopath or other holistic doctor. A regular, traditional physician will just try to give her more medicine and suggest things to mask it, instead of seeking the source of the problem. I don't know of a natural doctor here in town, but some others ladies here have recommended them before. Also, if you go to Whole Foods, they can usually point you in the right direction. Other ladies here will also have some diet recommendations for you.

it could just be adolescence, she is of the age where she is about to go through puberty, deoderant will not help with the underarm sweating, she needs to wear anti perspirant, you can get very effective ones.
during adolescence the feet tend to sweat a lot, there is also a condition called hyperhidrosis which can come on at this age, the palms and feet sweat profusely as do the underarms, this needs to be treated with prescrition strength anti perspirants.
a lot of dark haired girls myself included have very dark hairy legs, its unfortunate, but i have to shave my legs every day.

to combat the sweaty feet you can try spraying the soles with the same underarm deoderant, wearing absorbent insoles and changing the shoes everyday, dont wear the same pair of shoes 2 days running

T.,
I wouldn't worry, although do what ever you can to take the smell away.
When I was little, I sweated profusely. This caused underarm and foot odor. She has over active glands like I did then. Unfortunately for me, it stuck with me all through High School, and I still deal with my feet, but not as bad. I tried every deodorant I could get my hands on...nothing worked.
As for her breath, she may have Halitosis. And this you'd want to consult your doc or dentist on.
Good luck! I feel for her...

It sounds to me like her body is trying to detoxify itself through the sweat glands and pores. I'd start with having her only drink water, and cut out ALL caffeine. I always thought I was predisposed to sweating...but then when I was pregnant and didn't drink any caffeine, I didn't sweat hardly at all. I also noticed that if I did, there wasn't any odor.

I would call her Pediatrician and speak to either the Dr. or a nurse practitioner to make sure there isn't anything wrong. Then try the water only and no caffeine for a couple of weeks, either way, it's a healthier way to live :)

Good Luck,
M.
