Does anyone have a good recipe to make a smash cake? My son's 1st birthday is this Wednesday.

Definitely go to Byerly's for the free one. Do it today- they need a little bit of a notice but they should be able to have it ready by Wednesday. You can pick from a few different designs and colors, too. They have excellent cakes. We got the free first birthday cake, and ended up using that for the adults and got cupcakes for the kids.
Festival also has smaller cakes that are the perfect size for smashing the cake.
My daughter's birthday was a month ago and we went to Byerly's and got a free 1st birthday cake. It was the perfect size for a smash cake. We just had to bring in her birth certificate to prove her age.
Target also does the 1st cake free or at least they did 5 yrs ago when my oldest turned 1. Just bring in birth certificate/record
I just use box mixes, but I used a small pyrex bowl to make the smash cake for my daughter's first bday. My sister made cupcakes for her daughter, which worked out nice.
