M.,
I did the program 2 1/2 years ago and still go back for maintenance. Yes, the program is strict but I learned portion sizes, each fruits and vegetables every day and protein, which is what I used to give up first in a meal. I lost 42 pounds, beginning May 31, 2006 and reached that in October of 2006. I went from a very tight size 10 to a size 4 that was loose. I have physical problems that keep me from exercising and still lost the weight. However, I did exactly what they said, drank the water, gave up sugar, used their supplements (which some are like candy bars) as I was ready to get that weight off and feel better about myself. I was terrified to get off the plan once I met my goal and go on maintenance. The counselors become your friends, encouraging you along the way and so I don't think you need a chat room. You go three times a week after the first two weeks and so they spend the time chatting with you, monitoring your successes (and slipups). And they work with you if you know you are going to go off plan, letting you know what to give up to have that piece of birthday cake. Starting right before the holidays will be tough to stay on plan but you go girl! I lost so much that people at church and the kids school thought I had a health issue. Nope, all because I ate protein, fruits and vegetables. I was a carrot eater before but honestly, don't miss them or corn, either. It is expensive but I bought all the products, used them faithfully and am so glad I did. And if you need some encouragement, please e-mail me. I'll be glad to listen to you anytime.
