It comes off very easily.. Also try the new 3 D sidewalk chalk.. It is awesome. Used it for an event this last week.. The adults went crazy over it..
OK, this may seem like the dumbest question ever, but here goes. Does sidewalk chalk was away cleanly from your driveway, etc.? My hubby is EXTREMLY wacko when it comes to the driveway and garage. I'd like to get some chalk for the kiddos and then wash it off after we are done.
Thanks, M.

My husband FREAKED when he came home one day and there were chalk drawings in the driveway. He threw a livid, stomping fit...we had ruined the property value....blah blah blah.
It rinsed right off with the hose.
Took less time to rinse it off than he spent yelling about it.
Sidewalk chalk is awesome, in my opinion. Rain will rinse it away. It's not permanent. I even took videos of my kids and their artwork because some of it was so cute. It wasn't there for long, but I still captured it anyway.
P.S. I divorced my uptight husband.
We lived in the country. No one even saw our driveway. And it was not damaged by chalk in any way.
I say have fun! If you've got a hose, it will sqirt off.
Best wishes.
If you're really concerned you can make your own chalk paint - it washed off my driveway just from the sprinklers hitting it.
Equal parts cornstarch & water, then a drop or two of food coloring. The kids can paint on the ground with paint brushes - my kids loved using it.
Yes, it washes off very easily. And no, it's not a dumb question.. :)
It always has for us. We use the crayola brand. It comes off our cement walk and our tar driveway.
Yes, we use sidewalk chalk all the time and have never had any stains from it. It washes off with water very easily.
Yes, it just washes away with water.
Rain or the water hose will wash it off. So I wouldn't worry. There are so many options for chalk now, just have fun! Good luck and God Bless.
Sure does wash off, even the super cheap kind like I buy washes right off!! :)
it washes off easily with the water hose. Harder to wash off if you leave on for days but most of the time a good rain will get it off too.
The sidewalk chalk always comes off when it rains, even a light rain will wash it away.
I would go ahead and get some and test a small part or corner and see what happens. I would imagine that it would wash away easily.
My hubby is the same way, even worst with the bath tub crayons (which daughter can only use when I am home and I make sure it is nice a clean before hubby gets home)... anyway we have never had an issue of the chalk not washing off. We usually leave it till the next rain, if it has gone a week or two without rain the chalk usually just wears off but sometimes I dump water on it so my daughter can draw some more. We have both asphalt and concrete driveway and the chalk washes off both easily (either by rain or me spraying with a hose).
In my experience, yes, it washes right off. You can even leave it there and let the rain wash it away.
I was an art teacher and the school even let me take the kids out and do sidewalk chalk drawings on the basketball court at the end of the school year. It was so much fun, the kids loved it and I took pictures for them to take home and show their parents. (Take pics of the masterpieces, they won't be there after the first rain, or washing!) PS: Not the dumbest question ever, better safe than divorce court.
