Can anyone give me any leads to finding short term housing for a family of 2 that will only be in chicago for the summer. Preferably furnished, one bedroom, in the evanston and chicago area (prefer Evanston) They are looking for the lease to be from June 1 - August 30th. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks
I'd check the student papers at Northwestern or Loyola, as students might be looking to sublet their apartments during the summer.
Otherwise, it might be more cost effective to check an Extended Stay America. Their weekly rates are usually about $130-160 or so. It'd include housekeeping and probably at least a continental breakfast.

We relocated to the Chicago area last summer and we were in corporate housing for the summer. We were in a furnished 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment in Deerfield (North Shore), but the prices are similar throughout the area and Chicago proper. The prices are ridiculous - $5,000/month for a very basic apartment. This wasn't a glamorous stainless-steel-kitchen-with-beautiful-views kind of place. You pay a (huge) premium for not being committed to a lease. Good-luck.
Check craigslist. I know a lot of Northwestern students go away for the summer and sublease their apartments. Good luck!
