Shark Steam Cleaner

I was wondering if any of you mamas had tried a Shark steam mop? I was hoping to consolidate tasks by using the steam mop on the hard wood floors as well. I am not really concerned about the health aspects that it claims, I am just wondering if the $75 investment was really worth it and it lived up to all it claimed it did. Thanks mamas and papas! You are wonderful!

What can I do next?

I have one and it seems to clean as well as my Swiffer Wet Jet but without the throw-away pads and chemicals. I still have to spot-clean if there is a stuck on or dried spot on the kitchen floor sometimes but I had to do that with a regular mop or the swiffer. The only thing I don't like is that the cord is pretty short. If you have a large area of hard floor you will need to move to a different outlet part way through. You can get the Shark Deluxe (or whatever they call it) that has a much longer cord if you are willing to pay the extra $$. If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond near you, wait for the 20% off coupon then buy it with that. It's the best price you will find since they rarely go on sale anywhere.

We have one and it's great! We got ours at Costco for I think $60. It's much faster than a traditional mop and does a pretty decent job. We still normally pull out the traditional mop about twice a year, but that's partially because we have a dog, 2 cats, one kid, and another on the way. The steam mop definately does great with regular cleaning.

I have one and I love it, I have over 2000 square feet of hard wood floors and it keeps them clean beautifully. The only thing I would recommend is make sure to get extra mop pads and air dry DO NOT PUT IN THE DRYER. But it is great for little areas, or when I am doing the whole floor. No chemicals next to the kids and dog. I love love love it.

Hi L.. I got one a few months ago and I really love it. I bought mine at Costco because I knew that if I used it a few times and then decided that it wasn't worth the money, I could EASILY return it at Costco for a full refund. They are soooooo great with returns that it really makes trying out new products very worthwhile and not risky at all. If you order it off the TV and then decide you want to return it, it is such a hassle and you have to pay for shipping, etc. The first time I used it though, It left streaks on my hardwood and I wasn't happy. The next time, I wet the pad before starting and that made ALL the difference. It was much easier to push and I didn't waste a bunch of water from the map to wet the pad (if that makes sense). Also, you should read the directions before using, like to wash the pad before you use it and when you throw the pad in the wash, you should use a lingerie bag so it doesn't stick to everything. Also, don't dry the pads. The only other thing I've noticed is that I need to sweep really well before using it because the lint and dust doesn't necessarily stick to the pad and I can end up with a few "dust lines" around the floor. It's not a big deal and I just take a wet cloth at the end and wipe those lines up. Man my floor looks awesome and I love the fact that there aren't any chemicals and the mop is so easy to maintain and use.

I own one and it is great. If you are going to use the floor attatchment, make sure you put a cloth on it or you will have a mess on your hands. The only thing is that they are very noisy. The great thing is you don't have the chemical smell.

I LOVE LOVE MINE!! I too would buy one set of extra mop heads and let them air dry. I have a toddler and a new puppy and MAN O MAN... I love it... it is to the point where when there is a spot on the floor I whip that thing out and get the spot and then end up going to town on the rest of the floor JUST BECAUSE!!! It is super easy to use and gets the floors super clean and then when your done.... take pad off... put in washer and put your shark to "bed"! :)
