A.K.
I have been the same & with my doctors help, decided it's due to severe acid reflux. He told me to take an acid reducer everyday, which I was reluctant at first but then became miserable & had no choice. It has really helped.
I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second child and for the past 24 hrs I have been experiencing severe nausea to the point that I can't eat nor stand the smell of cooked food. Today I've had just a bowl of oatmeal in the morning, a cup of yougurt for lunch and apple and an orange, water and tea, nothing else. It started last evening with an upset stomach which I still have and severe nausea. As yesterday I started taking iron pills I thought it may be related, so I called my ObGyn and talked to her about it and she said it might be related but it could be something else as well, and if it does not go away soon i should see my family physician. I took iron pills during my first pregnancy in the third trimester as well but never experienced severe nausea. Did anybody experienced this during the third trimester? Any insights are highly appreciated. Thanks.
I was advised to take Maalox or Zantac and if the condition does not improve in few days to go see my family physician.

With my second I had severe nausea around this point for a day or two and it was either food poisoning or a stomach virus. It went away a day later. It could be the iron or the reflux. I guess you would have to stop the iron and see if it goes away.
I'm sorry you are feeling so ill. I did that for both of my pregnancies, but mine was the whole time I was pregnant. I found the best thing to use was cut up ginger and then take it like a pill so that you don't have to chew it or anything. I hope that helps, and since its new, keep talking to the docs. Good luck and congrats and feel better!
