Does anyone know of disability transportation groups in the Fort Worth area? I am disabled and unable to drive and I need help getting to and from doctors appointments and I really don't want to take a taxi because I am going from Fort Worth to Grapevine.

MITS is what you are looking for. The quickest way to get the info is to contact the United Way hotline at 211. I do know that you have to allow some time for the pickup and drop off. They will pick up several people at a time and you may have to wait 30-45 minutes for your ride so you need to factor that in to your appointments, etc.
Does Fort Worth have a mass transit system. When I lived in the DC area the Metro system had a transportation program for seniors and disabled people. You can check with FW's mass transit. You may want to check with a senior center. Even though you are not a senior, they maybe able to lead you in the right direction for finding someone.
Ft Worth has MITS. Give them a call to see what their policies and eligibility requirements are.
You might try calling "First Call for Help" in Fort worth for suggestions. They are with United Way and have a clearinghouse of all the local charities and will give you names of places and phone numbers to call them. Good Luck!
Look in the phone book for Handi tran. They are busses that are equipped for disabled folks and they take you to different places. My dad used to drive one of those little things.
