Seeking Steam Carpet Cleaner Recommendations.

We just recently bought the H20 Mop that is advertised on TV that will work on a variety of surfaces-wood, tile, carpet,etc... You also get a small steam cleaner too. We've only used it on our hard wood floors (original to our house-real hard wood) It works pretty good on our hard wood floors, we do have to come back afterwards and wipe it dry, that's the only hard part. We don't want the water to stay on the floor and dry it self. It is easy to use. We haven't tried it on the carpet yet. Maybe we can work on that this weekend, once we do the carpet, I can let you know about the carpet. I like the way it is made, it is lightweight and easy to pick up. I wish the cord was longer, but you may have to use a extension cord for a big room or keep moving to other outlets. Hope this helps, C.

I have the Bissell Pro Heat and I love it. I got it at Home Depot for less than $200. This is my second Bissell ProHeat. I use the Hoover shampoo mixer from HomeDepot which is about $30 a bottle but great stuff.

We have 3 dogs, 2 floors and I don't have a problem with this machine. My husband does the stairs with the attachements and he always take the machine upstairs or downstairs for me.

It does leave the area damp. In hight traffic areas, I put old white towels on the floor so we would not get it dirty. My carpet is very light beige and almost white. I use the machine often and store it in my garage.

We also have the Bissell Pro heat and I love it. The only other that I have used on my floors is the kind you can rent. the Bissell works much better. It does leave the floor damp so I do the cleaning in the evening after the kids go to bed and leave a fan on overnight, by the next morning it's dry. I haven't used it on our tile floors, I feel like I should use the mop to scrub. I have used the upholestry attachemnets on furniture and in the car and truck, Amazing!! you wouldn't think that the inside of a vehicle would be that dirty. The downside is that is a little on the heavy side and is bulky. but I think it is worth it.

I don't have anything to compare it to, but we've had the Bissell (sp?) Pro-Heat Steam Cleaner for several years and really like it a lot. I don't know if you'd consider it moderately priced or not. I believe it's less than $200 at Costco. And it's not light, but we have two stories and I can get it up and down the stairs with no real issues. It did have a hard surface floor cleaner attachment with it, but we've never used it so I can't comment on how that works. It does leave the carpet pretty damp after use so that's one negative, but again, I've never had another brand to compare it to so that just may be standard with all of them. I will say that we have used it a couple of times just to suck up water that got in the carpet, like when our sink overflowed, and that worked great! Also, the Bissell spot cleaner pre-treatment spray (in the blue bottle) has worked really well whenever there's a stain that the steam cleaner won't get up on it's own so I would definitely recommend that. Oh, and one more thing. There is a dial on the base of the cleaner that you turn to utilize the hand held attachment for upholstery cleaning and stuff like that. Some how ours broke and we can no longer turn it or use the hand-held piece. Since ours is several years old (like 7 or 8), I'm guessing they've improved that feature, but I thought I'd mention that as something to watch out for if you get one. Other than that, we've been happy with ours and would probably buy another one when ours finally poops out. :-)
