Try Mercola.com -

If you don't want to do mail order, then there are the usual suspects; Market Street, Sprouts, Whole Foods. There is also a little, but well stocked health food store north on the 75 a few exits. It is in the NE corner of the older shopping mall on the east side of the expressway. The mall also has the North Texas Driving School in it....I think it's technically, McKinney. Sorry I can't remember the name of the store - I think it's Bob something...but you can't miss it. If you go to 380, you definitely are too far.....I'm thinking it might be at either Eldorado or White.

Let me know if you find it and how your "cooking" goes. I am interested in getting mor probiotics in my diet as well.

Good luck.

Have you tried whole foods or googling an online source?

Good morning B., I have found that Whole Foods at Preston carries Kefir and Yogurt starter. I usually make kefir and yogurt. Sprouts at Coit carries only the yogurt starter, and Market Street does not carry either. I have requested them to, but have not seen it the last time I was there either.

I would be more than happy to give you a sachet to get you started. I believe I have online site that can help learn to keep your grains. I did do this for a while but have not lately. Email me privately if you are interested. We also live in Allen. I am thinking of carrying yogourt and kefir starters on our online store but not sure if there is enough interest. Here is my email address: ____@____.com.
There is also a local native nutrition yahoo group that may help you get kefir grains. There are people who at times give kefir grains to whoever is interested.

Blessings

I live in Plano and I have some water Kefir Grains that can be used for milk also. If you are interested, just let me know. These are grains that have been developed over time from other people not a starter kit.

Hi B.!

Good for you. Don't you just love massage?! I absolutely love the energy it gives me to give someone else a massage!

I don't know where to get kefir...looks like the first poster had some good ideas...but here is a website I found as well. It looks like there's a good source of exchanges...although none near us in Allen! Good luck!

:)
