So What Happened?

Thank you all for all your suggested Drs. He is not in need of surgery but we need advice on whether he could or should play any contact sports being that he has a small cyst on his brain. We had 3 opinions and I'm just looking for one more to give me his thoughts then we'll know what we should do. Again thank you all again.

Our son is getting a CATscan tomorrow for diagnosis but I am positive that he has craniosynostosis. Do you mind sharing who you end up choosing for a neurosurgeon as I am going to need one as well...I have been doing some research and saw that the two Egyptian kids that were connected at the head were done at Childrens Medical Clinic in Dallas.

Hi B.,

I don't know of any in Grand Prairie or Arlington, however, my son's neurosurgeon is at Children' Medical center- Dr. Sklar, and I have friends who have used Dr. Honeycutt at Cooks Childrens in Ft. Worth!

Good luck

my son sees dr. acosta, he is in the cooks neuro center, downtown, he is my son's neurologists (i assume he does surgeries, but i'm not sure) but he is WONDERFUL!!! he really takes the time with you & makes sure you understand everything & all your ?'s are answered...i highly recommend him but you would have to call his office (i know we had a long wait to get in as a new patient) i'm sure his office would be able to tell you if he can provide the services you need

I took my child to John Hopkins in Baltimore and then we decided against surgery. I hear UT southwestern is very good. Our experiences there have been as good as anywhere.

I would look for a surgeon associated with Children's Hospital here in Dallas for the best. Look for one that is also affiliated with UT Southwestern medical school. We have a top of the line medical school and research facility right here in Dallas with excellent attending physicians and faculty!

My daughter had brain surgery in December a year ago. We had a wonderful surgeon named Dr. Johnny Hunnicutt at Cooks Childrens Hospital in Ft.Worth.

B., we have a pediatric neurosurgeon that we have been seeing for about five years now. His name is Dr. David Donahue and he is at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth. His partner, Dr. McCallum (now retired) performed her surgery and now Dr. Donahue sees her for follow ups. I hope all goes well for you.
