Hello! Just wondering if any one has any leads on a more natural doctor here in Astoria or even in Queens. I've been coming up empty. It seems like the closest I've found are in Brooklyn or Manhattan. If you know of any doctors that at least have more of a natural approach, I'd love to hear from you.

My sister-in-law, who is an accupuncturist, met this pediatrician at a conference and thought he was great. He seems to practice in a more holistic manner than most MDs these days. Dr. Lawrence Palevsky is great. His practice is on Long Island, last I heard. My kids went to him before he left Manhattan. Perhaps, he's back in NYC. I highly recommend him.
If you have a car i highly reccommend Dr. Valerie Mokides in New Hyde Park, just off the Grand Central. Her number is ###-###-#### (easy!) i have been using her w both my kids since birth and we love her. we did natural birth and our midwife reccommended her and as soon as i met her i knew she was for us. she is very laid back, very slow to give medication unless you really want it; she's very parent-led. pro-breast-feeding, homeopathic centered. the wait in her office is sometimes a bit but it's worth it.
