We just moved in Suffolk County of NY. Currently We reside in Holtsville area. My husband has a little digestive system issue. Otherwise we do not have other health issues. We would need recommendation for a family doctor and a pediatrician. In case there is emergency like swine flu, Could you please recommend a hospital for adult and a hospital for children? Within 20-30 miles distance should be ok. Thanks.

Welcome to Suffolk County, it's a beautiful area. Two excellent hospitals are Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson on North Country Rd. and St. Charles also in Port Jefferson on Belle Terre Rd. Depending on what town you live in, there are several doctors in the area. I use Selden Pediatrics on Boyle Rd in Selden for my children. If you need to know of any other places, just send another request.

In my opinion St Charles Hospital in Port Jeff is the best. But there are many in Suffolk Cty depending where you live. I use Mid Suffolk Ped with offices in Islandia and Mt. Sinai. They are wonderful.
St. Charles and Mather are GREAT. Both are located in Port Jefferson. If your child is the one who needs to go to the hospital go to St. Charles. Mather doesn't have a peds ward and if your daughter needs to be admitted they will send you over to St. Charles. Mather is great for adults and children if they broke something etc.
Can you be a bit more specific, maybe in a PM? There's lots of hospitals in Suffolk, some are better than others. As for doctors, that would also depend on where in Suffolk County you are. Let me know - I am sure I can make some great recommendations.
