"Seeking at Home Job"

I have been out of work since I was pregnant with my son. He is now almost 3yrs. old. My husband and I have been struggling to make ends meet lately but I don't want to get a job outside of the home if I don't have to. Just paying for daycare alone doesn't seem worth it. I am wondering if anyone knows of a honest at home job that's available. I have searched online and am having a hard time finding a legitimate job. Please help!

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
When my 3 kids were all under the age of 5 I found myself in the same boat. I ended up selling Pampered Chef 2 nights a week for the next 4 years. The time actually flew by because I really enjoyed getting out of the house and having fun with other women. When the youngest started kindergarten I started working part-time in an office. You may find that you don't want to miss the school parties so a flexible schedule is great. I am currently providing my bookkeeping service to 3 companies and work for an internet travel company which helps me provide great vacations at discounted prices.

There's a company called Melaleuca that sells "green" home products. I worked for them for awhile but it just wasn't me. The company is legit and I do like the products - I'm just not motivated enough to work from home. heres the website

I don't want to sound as if you haven't thought of this but take what you earn a year, write down how much you pay for day care a year, anything extra you spending going to work, gas, eating out, clothes, etc... add those up and see how much you would have left to make up if you quit your job.
Then look at your families life style, I have no idea what it is so I am not judging or anything... Do you have two leased cars, or more expensive ones? Maybe you could sell those and buy 2 4,000 dollar cars for cash, no car payment. Maybe if you cut out eating out once a week for a year see how much that would end up saving you.

I have no idea how you live or anything but if you analyze it you may be surprised that you can save enough money and cut out enough with day care etc... and stay home without making a big huge cut out of your budget!!

Maybe you have done all the math, I don't know but I thought it would be worth a shot if you hadn't.

Hope you find some way to get home, it's the best.

You could put an ad out to offer baby-sitting for someone else at a reasonable rate, for the days and times you'd find most convenient. As long as you offer competitive rates, someone will respond. I did that for about a year to make ends meet.

If you love kids you could open an in home daycare center. It's a great fit for my family and I would be happy to talk to you more about it. Feel free to e-mail me.
