I have adhesive residue from masking tape on my window. It is a new window and I am worried about damaging the glass when I clean it. Does anyone have a method they have used that is safe for glass and will clean the residue?

What can I do next?

Oddly enough, WD40 is the best thing you can use. I didn't believe it myself when my husband recommended it and only tried it to prove he was off of his rocker. Imagine my surprise when it just melted the residue right off. I followed it with some vinegar to finish cleaning.

I used rubbing alcohol to get Silly Putty out of my carpet, and just last night a mamapedia mom suggested I try rubbing alcohol to get adhevise residue off of a shirt that had gone through the wash with a sticker, and it worked for that too. I bet it will work on the window, and it won't damage it.
