My 6 year old son has a pair that we got at a yard sale! He loves them!!!
My six year old daughter wants rollerblades for christmas.
Do you think she is to young to have fun with them? Should we wait a while before buying them? What brand is good?
Any other recommendations?
Thanks

She' not too young at all. My daughter has been in a class since she was 4 (she's 5 now). She's really pretty good. And she just ice skated for the first time last week and was able to pick it up easily. Just purchase beginner skates that don't roll too fast and get a helmet, knee, elbow and WRIST pads.
No she's a great age to start lessons. My daugther started Ice skating lessons at that age. Some roller rings have these pvc helpers that help them along to skate. Just make sure you put a helmet on her head
Nope, not too young if she loves to skate already. We got our girl roller blades for her 4th birthday at Academy. They were in a set with a helmet, elbow, knee, and hand pads included for less than $20. She loved them until she outgrew them.
My granddaughter wanted them also when she was 7. I thought she wouldn't be able to rollerblade but then I saw her outside using her friends and she was doing great. We got her a pair for her 7th birthday, and she loves them. In fact, she hasn't even ridden her bike since she got them - she always roller blading. Apparently they are much easier than roller skates because she couldn't not roller skate at all, but she can roller blade!
I don't think its too young at all. My youngest started just before he turned 4 and he is awesome on all skates. He will be 5 next month.
With the way my youngest skates I had to buy a good quality roller hockey for about $100. But you can go to WalMart or Target and buy the adjustable ones that only cost $20-30 and they will last a little longer. They don't roll that easy so it might be good for her to start on those.
Invest in a good helmet and pads. She will fall a lot. The wrist guards are also good to have. Mine won't wear them only because he can't hold his hockey stick with them on.
I say go for it and if she catches on she will have a blast. And if you're not sure if she will really like it you could always bring her to a skating rink to see how she does. That way you will know if she will really enjoy them.
