The Texas Gaylord & they can go hungry and eat at the Riverwalk Cafe - you'll need to book! There is also lots to walk around, see & bond. :-)
I am fairly new to Texas and wanted to ask all of you if you know of any restaurants open on Christmas day? My ex husband who lives out of the area is coming to visit our son and will be picking him up in the afternoon Christmas day and would like to take him out somewhere nice for dinner. Holidays are sad right now because our family is broken up, but I am trying my best to bring up a happy and healthy son. My son is just a wonderful child and I am so proud of him! Thanks to any of you who reply with any information you have. Happy Holidays!

Nice hotels often have wonderful buffet Christmas dinners. You could call a few and ask.
Hi P.. I am sorry about your situation. It is so hard when families split up. Do you and your ex get along? Is it out of the question for you to go with them? Or maybe have them eat at your house? My husband and I are going to my ex mother in law's house for Christmas Eve this year. My ex and I get along well and our son really wants his mom and step dad to go there with Daddy and Grandma. May be a little strange but I bet your son would love it.
Denny's is open Christmas Day. Your son is 10 1/2 so he may be ok with it. I hope you and your son adjust well to this recent situation. Divorce is never easy, especially on the child(ren). My husband and I are having alot of arguments that turn ugly. We rarely agree on anything except when we are discussing other people's lives! We have an 8 1/2 year old daughter together but we really shouldn't be together because all that fighting is not good for us or our daughter. But, anyway, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I just got an email from Humperdinks which has a turkey dinner with sides for $17.99 per person, kids under 12 are $9.99, all locations in DFW and doors open at 11:00.
You might go to www.guidelive.com and look at their website to see other types of restaurants that are open. Some may require a reservation.
Look for restaurants within big hotels, they are often open and have big Christmas dinner plans. My family always used to do that.
Macaroni Grill is open on Christmas day.
Try the Texan Gaylord. Great restaurants and wonderful Christmas decor.
